HENRIK: WE FOUND HER. LIVING AS ROSE NORTHWOOD IN BELLEFONTE, PENNSYLVANIA.

There is a picture attached that I click on, excitement running through my veins.

You thought you could run away from me, you little angel, but there is no place on this earth where you can hide, and I won’t find you.

When I open the picture, there she is.

Her hair is much shorter than it was, and it has highlights running through it. Those full lips are still the same.

Not smart enough to change her face entirely. That’s a problem.

I chuckle and zoom in on the picture. I hate the hair. She needs to grow it longer. I still want it wrapped around my fist while I fuck her from behind. I can’t do that if it is barely dusting her collarbones.

Even with the short hair and the horrible baggy clothing, there is no doubt that she’s beautiful.

It will be a shame to cage such a beautiful bird.

The menagerie of hell that’s waiting for her is nothing compared to what it would have been months ago.

If I had found her after she first escaped, I would have killed her on sight. There would not have been a second thought in my mind about driving a knife through her for ridiculing me and my warnings the way she did.

Now that I’ve had more time to think about the little angel’s punishment, I’ve come up with something much more unique.

She is going to wish that we had never met. She is going to beg me to kill her.

Anna is on the brink of understanding the dire consequences of crossing paths with me and getting on my bad side.

Stupid little bitch. It’s going to feel like hell when I carve your face from your body.

I chuckle and slip the phone into my pocket. “Cancel the meeting, Denis.”

Denis stops at a red light and pulls out his phone. “Yes, sir. Is there a reason I should give them?”

I smirk and cross my arms, meeting his gaze in the mirror. “Tell them I have prey to hunt.”

Chapter 11 - Anna

The paper bags shuffle in my arms as I kick the door to my apartment shut behind me. I reach up, trying not to drop the bag with the eggs while I lock the door.

The heavy thud in the lock does little to ease the worry in the back of my mind.

There could still be someone in my apartment. Sergey could be here, ready to jump out when I least expect it. He could be preparing to drag me back to New York where he will kill me.

Or worse.

A shiver works its way down my spine as I press my face against the door, looking through the peephole.

Nobody is here. You don’t have to worry about it.

After taking a deep breath I turn from the door and walk into the kitchen. I glance at the knife block, counting the handles to make sure that they are all still there.

This is insane, Anna. One of these days you’re going to have to get over this fear.

Although, I don’t know if I’m ever going to stop looking over my shoulder.

I don’t know Sergey well, but he seems like the kind of man who would stop at nothing to find me.

The sooner I get my hands on that passport, the better. I need to get the hell out of here.
