His fingers feel like a brand as they move tortuously slow, in and out of me. I try to remember why I was trying to avoid this, but my mind is foggy, and I’m already close to coming undone yet again.

Tightening my legs around him, I’m about to reach for his clothes just as I hear voices outside the class and see the door opening.

Chapter 16

MY EYES WIDEN IN HORROR. LEON ONLY GRINS, AND THE NEXTsecond, I feel the familiar stretching sensation as we disappear from the class and reappear in my living room.

My dress is hiked around my waist, and I’m still wrapped around Leon.

Cheeks burning, I uncurl my legs from around him. Leon is looking far too pleased with himself as he reluctantly lets go of my ass.

I think it would be really neat if the Earth could swallow me whole right now.

I rearrange my dress, shaking my head at the fog that still clings to my mind whenever Leon gets close to me. I cross my arms across and frownup at him. “You’re doing an awful lot of touching for someone who said that he wouldn’t touch me until I asked them to.”

I’m frustrated with my lack of control and double frustrated that this seemingly all-powerful creature is in no mood to control his baser urges. Leon watches my every step. I take a step back, not sure I’m ready for another close encounter with this very attractive Destroyer.

Frowning at the distance I put between us, Leon stalks my retreating figure across the room as he answers. “That was before I knew you wanted to give back your key and break our bond.”

My back bumps against the kitchen counter, blocking me from backing up any further. Leon takes full advantage, his hands coming to my waist and picking me up to sit on the edge. His gaze is once again intense as he continues. “Now that I know of your intentions, I amveryinvested in convincing you otherwise.”

His hands reach for my dress, lifting the hem before quickly spreading my legs, forcing my dress to rise all the way up as he presses himself against me again. I gasp at the feeling of being fully exposed, feeling his clothes brush up against my clit.

“You can try and pretend you don’t want this, but I can feel you aching for me. Every time you think about me sliding into you, I feel it through the bond. You might not be ready to fully accept our connection yet, but I know you burn for this.” He emphasizes his point by grinding his hard length against me.

“Leon.” I moan, the fog in my head coming back in full force. My body just proves him right by once again burning with desire.

Leon grins, giving me a bit more friction before pulling away. “But since you brought it up, I can oblige. I’ll keep my hands to myself a little while longer.” And with that, he turns and heads to the bedroom.

I stay on the counter unmoving, a bit shell-shocked. My pulse is thundering, and my body feels like it’s on the brink of shattering from the tension Leon has been building in me.

This mission will be very difficult if I keep fighting the bond. As it stands, I haven’t even made it 24 hours without being ready to sleep with this guy.

Closing my legs and adjusting my dress, I jump off the counter as Leon returns to the kitchen. He’s taken off his sword but is still wearing his clothes from this morning. I try not to stare at his sinfully tight leather pants.

Leon cocks an eyebrow at me. “Looking for something?” He asks.

I snap my gaze back to his face, cheeks burning as I answer. “Yes, I am.”

Leon misunderstands, his gaze darkening.

I quickly clarify. “Answers Leon. I have a lot of questions about this world I was just pulled into, and I think we still have a lot to discuss about what we’re going to do.”

Slightly disappointed, Leon leans against the wall and motions for me to take the bar stool. “Ask away, Vivian. I believe it’s your turn.”

I take a seat and eye him carefully as I ask my question. “Earlier, when you spoke about Destroyers, you talked about them as if you aren’t one of them. Why?”

Leon frowns at my mention of Destroyers. “I don’t include myself as a Destroyer because I didn’t start as one. I was a Creator. I was made to build up civilizations, to nurture them and grow them into greatness.”

I want to press about how he went from Creator to Destroyer when Leon asks his question. “You told the boy – Conner, that you’re damaged. What did you mean by that?”

I frown at the question. I don’t like to talk about this, so rather than immediately answering, I stand up and head into the kitchen, pulling out two microwavable meals. Once I have them cooking in the microwave, I look back at Leon, determined to be at least as honest and forthcoming as he’s been.

“I – some friends of mine got hurt a few years ago. My best friend’s twin brother died, and I was blamed for his death. My best friend and the other kids in my town decided to get their revenge, and they hurt me. I have a lot of trouble trusting people because of it.”

Leon frowns as he thinks over something. “Is that – last night when you woke me, you weren’t wearing much. Did they give you the scars?”

I look away from him, ashamed that he saw me like that. “Yeah. They did.”
