“Agreed,” Las says.

“Now that we established that,” Marie starts and walks to Breeane. “I was talking to the girls. Do you like girls’ nights?”

Fuck.

Chapter Thirteen

Breeane

“Is Logan as intense as he seems?” A gorgeous panther shifter, Harmony, asks.

“Um…” I blink.

“I would think so,” Penny gives her opinion. “He has the look.” She waves in front of her face. She is the one mated to two dragons. I still can’t stop staring at her perfect, angelic face, knowing she turns into a dragon.

“I think he’s a big teddy bear,” Ava says.

“He’s a good guy,” Saylor tells us before sipping her water. She is pregnant; her hand gravitates toward her little baby bump constantly. “Elijah has spent a lot of time with him. What about Lucas? Las? I don’t know them as well.”

Saylor is a cheetah. She has long, light brown hair that almost reaches her waist. I’ve been dying to ask what product she uses on it—it’s so shiny.

“Sorry, I’m late,” says a voice next to me. I look over my drink to find Ryker standing with his arm around a stunning, very pregnant blonde. “Ryker didn’t want me to come, so I had to convince him.” She shares a sultry smile with him.

“I will be at the bar,” he says sternly. “If you feel bad at all, we are leaving.”

“I know, I know.” She shoes him away. “How can we talk freely when you and Bash are at the bar?”

“We won’t listen,” he says dryly. He kisses her and rubs her stomach before walking away.

“Kerian and River practically pushed me out the door,” Ava snorts, watching him walk away. “They couldn’t wait to have Revel to themselves. She will still be up when I get home. I swear, River is teaching her his food trick. The girl is obsessed with food. I find it in all her pockets. The other day, I washed a load of laundry with a full chocolate bar.” She sees my questioning look. “River has food on him at all times. It’s kind of magic.”

My mates were not happy. They didn’t want me out of their sight, which caused me to do the opposite of what they wanted. If I am going to live here and possibly become a fucking lion, I want to know their friends. They caved, but only because Ryker and Bash assured them they would be close by.

We went to a nightclub, which I came to find out that Harmony’s mates own. I met her three mates and had to wipe the drool from my chin. The way they looked at her would make any woman swoon. It was still early, so it wasn’t busy, but we were still tucked into a dark corner beside the end of the bar. I was excited to dress up and have some girl talk. I put on a long, stretchy blue dress that hit my ankles but had two long slits on the sides. I went heavy on the makeup, adding my shiny dark lipstick, which Las kissed off when he dropped me off.

I don’t have a problem talking about anything, but I haven’t gotten a word in yet.

“What did I miss?” Serenity asks excitedly, sinking slowly into the chair.

“Just the introductions. We were starting a discussion about the intensity of Logan,” Harmony gives her the rundown.

“I’m Serenity,” she offers her hand. “I’m the one mated to the intense vampire over there, so I know a bit about that.” She looks over her shoulder, glaring.

“It’s nice to meet you. I met Ryker when I got into town. I bought your building.” I grab a handful of popcorn. This place doesn’t look like a popcorn type of place, but Harmony asked for it, and it showed up moments later. We also have chocolate, chips, and fries.

“That’s right,” she sighs. “I swear, with my pregnancy brain, I can’t remember anything.” She grabs the water that a waitress puts in front of her. “I think it floated away because of all the water Ryker is making me drink. I’d rather drink from him.” She grins but dutifully lifts the bottle.

I sputter at the thought, almost spitting out my drink. “I can’t imagine. The idea of your partner supplying you with substance is intriguing. I have always wondered about it ever since learning about vampires.”

Serenity smirks. “There isn’t another feeling like it.”

“I am amazed that you have such an open mind about this world,” Marie says.

“I’ve heard about it for so long that I feel like it has been part of my life, I guess.” I shrug and take another drink.

“I love it,” Penny says. She wiggles her eyebrows. “Now, back to Logan.”

“I don’t know him well enough to give my opinion.” Serenity pouts.
