“You’re pretty perfect, Walker Montgomery.” She leans in, brushing her lips against mine. My heart beats quickly in my chest, the feeling of her love washing over me like the warm sun on a summer day.

“Not as perfect as you.” I realize that I’m willing to wait an eternity for her. I have already waited years, and it’s worth it just to have a chance with Ella.

I take a cloth and coat it in the luxurious coconut and berry smelling gel I bought for this special moment.

“Turn around, Omega, and let me soothe away your aches,” I say, humor coating my words.

She grins, shaking her head. “You’re asking for trouble, calling me omega now.”

I press a kiss against her lips. “You know you’ll always be my darling, Eleanor Darling?”

She smiles. It’s beautiful and fills my heart with warmth. I couldn’t be prouder that she’s chosen me, despite not only the age gap but also her concerns of her father being my best friend.

I understand her struggle, as I’ve had my own battles with the concept of her being mine, too.

As I wash her, my fingers glide over her flesh, careful not to exacerbate her sensitive skin. She’s already aching so much from the battering her body got when she was in heat.

Her body trembles, but I can tell she’s enjoying the sensation. I take my time, luxuriating in the softness of her skin and the warmth of her body beneath my hands.

“That’s so nice,” she whimpers as I pour warm water over her body.

She turns to face me, her expression soft and vulnerable as she lifts her chin. I set my hand on her cheek, tracing the delicate contours of her face with my fingers, the afterglow of her heat still warm beneath my touch.

She closes her eyes, and for a moment, I can feel the love between us, knowing it will be greater once she accepts my bond.

Her body slowly molds into mine.

I rinse more soap away. She murmurs and leans against me, her head resting on my shoulder as water cascades down her skin.

“Would you have pursued me if my dad was still alive?” she asks, uncertainty lacing her words.

I can’t help but kiss the top of her head, my heart swelling as I wrap my arms around her, hearing her vulnerability and wanting her to know she’s the one, regardless of any barriers that are or were in the way.

“I love you, Eleanor Darling. I’ve loved you for too long,” I whisper into her hair, remembering how old she was when I realized she was mine. “You were always mine and nothing would have gotten in my way.”

Not that I would’ve ever acted upon it when I first realized.

I stand in the tub and pull her into my arms. “Let’s get you into bed,” I say against her neck. Her body shivers against me. “To sleep.”

She giggles. “I’m too tired and sore for anything else. Wake me up in three days.”

“Can I sleep with you?” I ask, fear coating my words as I wait for her to agree. Fear that she doesn’t feel the same way now her heat is over.

“I’d love you too.”

I take the fluffy white towel and envelop her in the soft fabric before wrapping another around her hair.

After she brushes her teeth, I whisk her off the floor, and stride into her bedroom. A cozy set of pajamas rest on the pillow. I sit her on the edge of the bed, and slide the pajamas up her legs. “Shuffle your ass.”

She giggles as I pull the soft fabric over her butt. “You’re very attentive, Walker.”

I smile. “Only for you, but you already know that, don’t you?”

Our gazes lock as she nods.

I pull the pajama top over her body, and within seconds, she is ready to have a blissful sleep. I maneuver her into the sheets, tucking her in tightly, before I sit beside her.

She looks up at me with those big, doe-like eyes, and I can’t help but lean in and kiss her lips. Her mouth parts, inviting me in, and I deepen the kiss, savoring her taste.
