“I did mess with the coding for Life Shift after we met.”

“What?”

“Just my profile, because there was no way I wanted to take the chance another woman could be my match.”

“Oh. So you fixed it because you knew I’d cave.” I chuckle. “I was pretty transparent, huh?”

He smiles and removes the ring from the box before setting the case down on the coffee table. “You were mine from the moment we met. The night I worked on the program for you, I made the code bulletproof. Nobody can ever tamper with it.” He gives me a cocky smile and steps closer to me to take my hand. “I wasn’t lying when I said I was the best.” He gazes at me intently. “Are we good?”

I nod.

“Abby Gammon, I love you more than I could have ever imagined. Will you be mine forever?”

Happy tears spring to my eyes as if he’s proposing instead of giving a ring to the woman who is already his wife. “I love you, too, Kai. Yes.”

He brushes his thumb over my lower lip and lets out a low, sexy noise before he leans in and kisses me. When we break apart Kai says, “We should open the champagne. Is it still in the fridge?” But he’s busy pulling the pins out of my hair instead of moving.

My phone rings in my back pocket, and I pull it out. I see it’s Mallory, but my mind is on Kai and the way his strong hands are grabbing my hair. I hit the speaker, and the phone thumps on the table when I set it down.

Mallory skips the greeting. “There’s no sign of any tampering, Boss Lady. Kai installed a killer code to keep hackers out, though. It’s kind of genius.”

I place my hand on Kai's chest and tilt my head back as I revel in the feel of my werewolf’s touch. I say, “Mm-hmm.”

“So go strip your man naked and have your way with him before I do.”

“I’m already on it.”

Mallory chuckles, and I reach over to tap End Call so I can reach up and kiss Kai.

I sigh in pleasure as Kai massages the arch of my foot. “I swear my feet have swollen a whole shoe size.”

“Then we’ll just get you bigger shoes.”

“I’m going to need bigger everything. Funny how you neglected to mention twins run in your family.” I’m four months pregnant, and my werewolf body is making sure I know what an important job I have now.

Kai has moved up to my calves, and I moan as I close my eyes. He says, “Baby, every time you make that sound I want to devour you.”

His jeans are rough on my sole as I slide my other foot along his thigh. Everything as a werewolf is more intense. A fact that isn’t always a good thing, considering the scent of barbecue within a mile radius made me nauseated during the first trimester of my pregnancy. “Have I ever complained about that?”

He raises his eyebrows, and his voice lowers in tone. “No. You haven’t.” Kai moves up to hover over me on the couch. I reach to put my arms around his neck, and his powerful muscles flex as he slides his hands under my bottom and lifts me up so I’ll wrap my legs around his waist.

He carries me toward the bedroom. I say, “You’re not going to be able to do this much longer.”

“When your belly is too big for this, I’ll carry you another way because I plan to spend every day making sure you know how much I adore you.”

I think about how that’s true. I never knew I could want to be with a man the way I do Kai. He’s my world, and I can’t imagine how I survived without him. And soon, I’ll have two darling children that will remind me how wonderful it is to find someone who helps you realize the dream of a family.

My hot werewolf lowers me to the bed, and I lie back on the cool comforter as he begins to undress me. While our attraction physically was instant, Kai is so much more than a sexy man who makes my knees weak. He’s got a mind that challenges and impresses me and a heart of gold that I’m sure will make him a great father too.

I watch as Kai finishes taking his clothes off, and when he crawls over me, I reach up and place my hand on his heart. It pounds against his chest with a steady beat that makes me think of his strong commitment to our love, and my heart nearly bursts from the emotions that fill it. I say, “I love you so much, Kai. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”

“And I’m the luckiest man, Abby.” He leans down close and whispers, “Now let me show you how much I love you,” and he kisses me in a way that makes me never want to let go of my perfect match.
