“Hey, squirt!” Remi spun her around before setting her back down.

“Do you want to help me find my bags on the carousel, Peanut?” Taylor did not spare Remi another glance as she held out her hand to Harper.

“Yes!” Harper cheered and took Taylor’s hand.

The two of them headed to baggage claim, and Remi trailed behind them.

“That was weird, right?” Ruby asked quietly, as we followed. “There was like a weird vibe between them.”

“Yeah,” I agreed. I’d been worried that there might be awkwardness between me and Remi since this was the first time I’d seen him since he found out I was marrying his little sister, but I didn’t think there’d be awkwardness between him and Taylor. They’d never even met each other.

“Yes, we are.” I bent down and kissed my soon-to-be wife.

“I love you,” she whispered against my mouth as her lips split in a wide smile.

“I love you, too.” I still wasn’t sure what I’d done to deserve her, but I did know I was going to do everything I could to keep putting that smile on her face every day for the rest of her life.

THE END
