“No! I’m going to kill him! Let me go!” She continued struggling, and upon hearing the commotion, everyone came to the door to see what was happening. The moment Madam A’s eyes landed on Eugene, she brought her hand up to her mouth in shock.

Blaine and Benjamin remained relatively calm as they were very much aware of what was going on. Eugene sat up slowly, and Brielle managed to slip out of Killian’s hold to get to him. It took both him and Blaine to grab her and pull her back.

Shaking out of their arms, Brielle looked over to Eugene, who was standing up. She pointed her finger at him angrily. “H-how dare you… come back? A-all of this time, I was trying to find you, contact you, hear your voice.” She paused for a moment.

“I-I thought you were dead.. and all you have to s-say is hi?” Eugene didn’t say anything for a moment, and Killian spoke softly as he tried to approach her.

“Brielle, sweetheart, how about we go inside? It’s freezing love.” The moment Killian placed his hand on her, she looked up at him, and he automatically knew what was coming next.

“Did you know?” She asked, and he feigned a look of confusion.

“Know about what, darling?” She stepped out of his hold and glared at him slightly.

“You know what I’m talking about, Killian. Did you know that Eugene was alive or not?” The look on his face immediately gave it away, and her eyes drifted to Blaine, who had the same look on his. She scoffed as the tears continued falling down her face. “You both knew… didn’t you?”

“Brielle-” Killian tried speaking, and she cut him off.

“I don’t want to hear your reasons or your excuses. All three of you didn’t say anything to me, and you expect me to want to hear even one word from you all?” No one spoke. Brielle wiped her tears away and looked over to Eugene as she shook her head.

“I don’t even want to see your face right now.” She started walking back, and Eugene tried to go after her.

“Brielle, I-” She turned back and stopped him.

“D-don’t.. Don’t talk to me right now.” She stormed inside, and Eugene ran his hands through his hair.

Killian came up beside him. “.. Let’s go inside.” He muttered, and slowly, they all entered. Eugene couldn’t help but look over to the stairs as he heard one of the doors slam shut. He walked over to the living room and took a seat as Killian asked him to. Madam A sat beside him for a moment, and eventually, she pulled him into a hug. He hugged her back softly, and she soon pulled away.

“God, I feel like smacking you, but I won’t. You’ve been through enough as it is.” She remarked, and he nodded as a small smile came to his face.

“It’s fine. I deserve it…” He acknowledged, whispering the last part, and it went silent for a moment. Benjamin caught the attention of the room as he spoke.

“I think it would be best for us to leave these three gentlemen for a moment, as it is getting late.” Following his orders, everyone left the room except Killian, Blaine, Eugene, and Delilah, who kept her eyes trained on her uncle with her new puppy in her arms. Eugene sighed heavily, and his eyes shifted over to the little girl. He smiled as he tilted his head.

“You must be Delilah..” Instead of responding to him, she went over to the couch and climbed onto it.

“You’re Uncle Eugene?” She stated, and he nodded.

“That’s me..”

“…Why is Mommy mad at you?” Eugene’s eyes went over to Killian’s for a minute, and he just nodded as if answering Eugene’s suspicion.

“It’s because I was gone… for a very long time.”

“…Whenever she thinks about you.. she gets really sad.” She whispered, and Eugene nodded.

“I know she does…” Benjamin walked into the room, and Delilah instantly knew it was time for bed. She stood up and went over to him as he led her up the stairs to her bedroom. Eugene folded his hands in his lap as he looked over to the men who were already looking at him.

“I don’t suppose you have anything encouraging to say about this whole situation..” He asked, and Killian responded.

“Of course I don’t. If it wasn’t for the fact that you were family, I would easily call up my security and have you dragged off of my property. We talked about this already. Why did you think it was smart to come when you knew well enough what would happen? It’s Christmas Eve, dammit. She planned this whole thing to get away from the drama, and here you come in, making it worse for her.”

Eugene sighed. “Killian. I’m asking for your help. Not for you to criticize me and tell me everything I did wrong.”

“Give her some time.. then talk to her, alone without this maniac in the room,” Blaine suggested, tilting his head over to Killian, and he continued. “We’re all in a bit of trouble, right? It’s best if we just go about this gradually and tell her the truth… I’m sure she’ll forgive us in her own time.” Blaine rationalized as Eugene tensed up, and Killian noticed the second he did.

“The… whole truth?” Eugene asked, and Blaine nodded his head.

Killian crossed his arms. “Is there something that we don’t know?”
