“Yes,” Eugene answered without missing a beat, and Blaine shrugged.

“Is this something you didn’t want to tell us or couldn’t tell us?” Eugene nodded.

“Trust me.. if Brielle heard that one of you knew this secret before she did… she would never forgive me. In a million years…” Silence was brought upon them once again, and Blaine shrugged as he walked towards the stairs.

“I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve had enough drama for today..” They listened as his footsteps ascended the steps, and Killian sighed.

“I suppose you would much rather enjoy a bedroom than that tree branch outside, right?” Eugene nodded his head. Killian walked over to the steps and spoke.

“Upstairs to the left, last door in the hall.” Not waiting for a response, Killian went up to his room and opened the door. There, he saw Brielle sitting on the couch with her knees under her chin as she hugged them. Her eyes held no more tears, and she felt as though she cried them all out. Killian stepped over to her slowly, and she spoke, not moving.

“…I don’t want to speak to you right now.”

Standing in front of her, he crossed his arms. “I’m fine with that. You just need to come to bed. It’s late.”

“I’ll be okay where I am… I’m not even tired.” Killian scoffed.

“That’s fine. Just understand that I will be standing right here until you decide to go to bed.”

“What part about ‘I don’t want to talk to you’ do you not understand?” She asked.

“I understand every part of the sentence. I’m just telling you it’s time for bed, and I’m not going over there without you.”

She didn’t say anything in response. However, her tears were returning, and she finally looked up at him. “W-Why didn’t you tell me?… And don’t say it was because you were trying to protect me because I can tell you right now, that excuse is meaningless at this point.” Killian felt his heart breaking at the sight of her tear-filled eyes.

“….I thought he was dead Killian. You knew he was a-alive, and you didn’t even b-bother to tell me?” She said, gradually losing control of her voice as her sobs continued. Killian grabbed her arms and pulled her up to him into a hug. She wrapped her arms around him tight and tried to stop herself from crying.

“Brielle… you know I would never do anything to hurt you purposely.”

“I know… I just wish you weren’t so stupid.” Killian gave a slight smirk, and he rubbed his hand on her back.

“…What do you think I should do?” She asked him, and he sighed. “Talk to him.”

“But I can’t even look at him without wanting to beat his face.” She said with a pout, and Killian shrugged in response. “Talk to him tomorrow.. or in a few days.. Maybe then you won’t feel like beating him to a pulp.” She smiled sadly, and Killian placed a kiss on the top of her head.

“I love you..” He whispered, and she shook her head. “I can’t say it back. I’m still very mad at you.”

“And I am ready for any punishment that comes my way.”

“Until I feel better about all of this, you and Blaine are now receiving the silent treatment.” She decided, and Killian nodded his head.

“Fair enough.” Without notice, she pulled away from the hug and completely ignored him as she finished getting ready for bed. Killian sighed as he could tell this was going to be a lot harder than it seemed.

Eugene made his way into the kitchen as lunch was being prepared. Eyes turned to him slowly, and he nodded his head.

“Good afternoon, everyone.” He greeted them, and they responded. He was in his room all morning, and he didn’t feel the urge to come downstairs since it had been two days since Brielle had spoken to him. The silent treatment was evident around the house and quite uncomfortable for the ones having to witness it. He’d also never seen Killian pretty much beg Brielle for attention, as she was also paying him no mind, which slowly made the man become desperate.

They all heard small footsteps coming down the stairs, and heavy ones followed, now letting them know that Killian was about to start pleading with Brielle for the hundredth time.

“Brielle, darling, I know I’ve upset you, but you haven’t spoken or touched me in the last two days. I swear to you on everything I will do better, but please just give me one kiss… one kiss. That’s all I’m asking for, love.” Brielle didn’t pay him any mind as she picked up her lunch from the table and made her way to the living room, not even sparing Eugene a glance.

Killian sighed heavily, and they watched as Frederick approached him. Even if this was torturing for Killian, Frederick found amusement in watching him run after Brielle time and time again.

“How are you feeling, son?.. I’ve noticed you’ve been looking a little lost lately.”

Killian shook his head. “I’m fine, Frederick… No need to worry about me.”

Frederick tilted his head, faking his concern. “Are-Are you sure? Because Ms. Newman doesn’t seem to be noticing you or your attempts at making an apology.”
