“Why do I get the feeling that you’re lying to me, Killian..”

“Well, my darling, that’s a ‘you problem’ that needs to be sorted out.” She didn’t say anything for a moment but still stayed on the phone.

“Are you going to be doing any business there?” She finally spoke, and I shook my head.

“It’s just a few days for my favorite girls to go enjoy themselves.” She again didn’t say anything, and I could’ve sworn I heard George gulp, most likely terrified.

She seethed into the phone. “We’ll go on your little trip, Russel, but just know I’m onto you… I know you’re hiding something from me, and the second I find out… It’s not going to be pretty.” She hung up, and I sighed as I looked down at my phone.

“God, I love you, woman.”

We sat on the plane, and Brielle didn’t acknowledge me once since I’d seen her. Delilah curled up with her puppy asleep next to the seat by Benjamin, who was reading a book. I sat in the chair across from Brielle, and her eyes were glued to the book she was reading as if I wasn’t in the room…

I had to force myself not to open my laptop to do some work. I was already set for the next two months and only had to work on last-minute arrangements and contracts. My phone buzzed once, and I picked it up to see Valarie sent me a message.

Valarie: You’re out of the penthouse already, correct?

Killian: Of course, I am.. I’m not as incompetent as you presume me to be.

Valarie: I’m just saying, Killian.. sometimes you can be a bit clueless…

My eyebrows furrowed, and I immediately started typing back a response. After about a paragraph and a half, Brielle stood up, and my eyes went over to her as she walked to the back of the plane. I placed my phone down and went after her. She entered the bathroom, and I waited in the hall for her to finish. As she stepped out, she narrowed her eyes.

“Stop being creepy..” She muttered, and I chuckled as I pulled her into my embrace. She sighed as she wrapped her arms around my neck.

“What are you up to, Killian?” I looked at her innocently as I stroked her back. “What do you mean, darling?”

“I mean that I don’t trust you, and I’m trying to look at the bright side of this trip, but I have a good feeling you may be lying to me about something.”

“Well, I haven’t said anything, so technically, I’m not lying.”

“Are you hiding something, Killian?” She asked directly.

Leaning down, I placed a kiss on her lips and pulled away. “Well, if I don’t tell you, I wouldn’t exactly be hiding or lying about anything now, would I?” She hit my shoulder with a pout and whined.

“You’re so difficult.” Chuckling, I kissed her lips again, and she gladly accepted.

After a good hour, we arrived at the park and were immediately escorted to our suite. I had the idea of renting the entire park for a day but decided against it. However, that may change soon if I am forced to wait in those godforsaken lines.

By the morning, Delilah was the first to wake up and wanted to leave as soon as possible. Eventually, we left the hotel and made our way around with Brielle being dragged everywhere and Benjamin following along with Nathan.

We went to visit the princesses first, and the ones that were not with other children gasped with delight as they saw the little girl whose party they were all invited to. They came over and spoke to her while the other princesses who were busy looked slightly envious that they couldn’t come over. Walking over to Brielle, I wrapped my arms around her waist and kissed her neck.

“Looks like someone’s popular,” I said, referring to Delilah, and Brielle nodded.

“They can take her for the rest of the day. All of this running around is tiring.” She leaned into my hold, and I rubbed small patterns on her waist. Looking around for something we could do, I smiled as I walked her over to one of the rides.

“Killian, where are we going?” She asked, and I chuckled. She looked up at the ride and shook her head as she tried to turn away. “Nope, I’ll stick to the baby train by Tinkerbell.” I pulled her over to me.

“Darling, this is nothing.. Just one round.. One round, that’s all I’m asking you.” She looked at the ride for a few moments before sighing.

“If I fly out of this thing, I’m killing you.” Ignoring her statement, we went to the line and soon took our seats on the ride. After buckling, I could literally hear Brielle’s nerves. Reaching behind me, I held her hand comfortingly, and even though I couldn’t see her, I knew she was smiling.

The ride started moving slowly, and I had to let go of her hand. My heart warmed as we started going faster, and I heard her giggles from behind. Looking back, I saw her face light up, and her smile was huge. For the entire ride, I enjoyed listening to her voice, and we eventually came to a stop. After getting off, I grabbed her hand in mine and looked down at her.

“What if I told you I was hiding something from you?” She leaned her chin on my chest as she looked up at me.

“I would think it was very important because you had to take us to Florida to escape it.. Is this secret that big?” Brushing the hair out of her face, I smiled.
