“It sure is… I can’t wait until you see it.”

Brielle

After our trip to Florida, it was finally time to return to New York. As much as I enjoyed myself with Killian and Delilah, I was glad to be back home. Benjamin took Delilah back home with George, and Nathan drove Killian and me to the office so we could get just a bit of work done. The evening was approaching, and Killian was driving us back to the penthouse. I placed my hand in his and gave it a little squeeze.

“Thank you for the trip, Killy. I really appreciated it.”

“No problem, love.”

“Even if you didn’t do it with innocent intentions, I still appreciate it. By the way, when are you going to show me my secret?”

“You’ll see it soon, darling..” I nodded and soon realized that he was passing by the penthouse.

“Uh, Killian, not to say you’re a bad driver or anything, but you reached the destination almost two blocks ago.” He didn’t say much as he brought my hand up to his lips, and he let it linger there for a little bit before whispering.

“You’ll see, love..” I nodded, making a face as I turned away.

“So I guess you’re still trying to be creepy… But hey, I’m not judging.” He gave a small chuckle, and we stayed in comfortable silence for about twenty minutes with random small talk until we were literally in the middle of nowhere.

“Killian, not that I’m saying this is what you’re planning to do, but I really don’t want you to kill me now.” He didn’t say anything. Reaching a gate, he opened his window and entered his PIN number.

The gates opened, and he drove slowly until we reached a home that made my jaw actually drop. He stopped the car by the fountain and exited. I didn’t even notice that he’d opened my door for me until he held his hand out for mine. The home was massive and absolutely gorgeous.

“Killian… wow.” He allowed me to look around but stayed close to me as he spoke.

“This is my parents’ estate that they left for me. They gave it to me when I was eighteen, but I never saw a need for it… I had it renovated and improved a month or so ago..” I nodded, and he continued to follow me as I walked to the front door.

“Mr. and Mrs. Russel?”I asked, and then I answered my own question. “I guess they lived here for a while, too.”

“That wasn’t there when they lived here…” He replied, and I tilted my head as my eyes stayed on their names.

“Then why did you-” I began as I turned to him, but my heart rate increased as I noticed he was no longer standing but kneeling on one knee as he held a velvet box in his hand. He was looking down at it, but once he noticed I stopped talking, he glanced up, and I felt the world stop.. almost as if it was only him and I.

Chapter sixty-one

Brielle

I brought my hand up to my mouth as the tears came to my eyes. Killian sighed as he closed his own.

“Brielle… I love you.. so much that I wouldn’t even know myself without you. Sometimes, I try to think back to who I was before I met you, and I don’t ever want to relive those experiences. As ‘fun’ or free as I thought I felt a year or two ago, I wasn’t really happy. For as long as I can remember, I always thought it was wrong to be tied down in a relationship, but you have absolutely no idea how much I want to beat the shit out of my past self… And I know when I met you, I was a huge arrogant jackass who didn’t care about anything but himself.-” I sniffled softly as I wiped my tears and spoke.

“You were, you really were.” He gave a small laugh.

“I know love, and I still am, but the bright side of all this is that I have you by my side now… You and the little girl, who I quickly adapted to. She means the world to me. I would go to the moon and back for her. I don’t know her as anyone other than my daughter, and I don’t want to know you as anyone else other than my wife. So Brielle… I am going to ask you a question I never thought I’d ask in a million years.. Will you marry me?”

I nodded my head as quickly as I could. “Yes, Killian, I will.” He stood up and grabbed my hand as he placed the ring on my finger. When he finished, I couldn’t help but throw my arms around his neck. His hands found my waist, and he pulled me closer to him.

“Brielle… I love you so much..” He whispered, and I whispered back.

“I love you-” I was cut off when we heard a small click of a camera. Both Killian and I glanced to the bushes and witnessed Benjamin and Reginald desperately trying to stand up and run away, attempting to avoid being seen. They disappeared behind the house, but not before Benjamin gave Reginald a good smack to the back of his head for being caught. I giggled softly as they started bickering, and a few more voices rang out.

“Did she say yes? Did she? Did she?”

“Blaine, stop. You’re too loud.”

“When are we going to eat?” A small voice spoke in Japanese.

“Kimi, we ate 30 minutes ago! Shh!”
