That bastard.

He knows what he’s doing.

He knows he has me all in knots, and I’m a rookie at this flirting with a biker shit.

Still, that doesn’t stop me.

What he doesn't know is that my panties are soaked. That for the first time in a long time, I’m actually looking forward to having a break from my ‘real’ life. And I get to spend it here, with him… Mr. Dark and Dangerous.

Maybe my luck is changing after all. Maybe all of the bad stuff in my head is just that.

It feels better already.

Even if I warn myself that this isn’t some fairytale with a happy ending.

But I push the warning signs aside.

This is my fantasy, after all, and I can do with it whatever I please.

“I’m sure you’ll be happy here for the time bein’,” Cash says, glancing around the room after his meet and greet with Aspyn.

“I’m sure I will be,” Aspyn says. I frown at her tone. Cash doesn’t get sassy Aspyn. All of a sudden, she’s sugar with a cherry on top with Cash. “And I have my new security to make sure that nothing happens to me.” She smiles sweetly.

What in the actual fuck?

She sounds like Mary, Mary quite fuckin’ Contrary, or however that dumb as fuck nursery rhyme goes.

I want to facepalm myself.

His eyes meet mine and I give him a chin lift. “Everythin’s in place,” I tell him, trying to keep my voice even. “Apartment security are also on alert, and Mr. Huntley has assured me to call him, should anything change.”

Cash nods. “The prospects?”

“One is outside at all times; Rodeo or Bandit tonight, and Pipes will take the inside shift.”

Rodeo has just joined the club, and Bandit is Indigo’s younger brother, Jonah.

Cash frowns. “Inside the apartment?”

“Only if I’m not here.”

“But you will be here. At all times.”

I glance at Aspyn, who looks as sweet as pie as she smiles at Cash once more.

She acts like an innocent angel, but I know her type. It’s always the quiet, seemingly harmless chicks who surprise you. And the ones you have to worry about.

“Of course. I just meant in case somethin’ else comes up….” I’m referring to Forger and the Devil's Ink mess. Something else we really don’t need right now, but that’s out of our hands.

Harlem and Tag did some networking on Saturday night, and we’re closing in on the nomads that continue to haunt us. The quicker this is dealt with, the better. Though, I am kinda pissed that I have to miss out on the action. Saturday night turned out to be a bust because all I did was sit in a car with J.J listening to him whine about how much pussy he was missing out on being stuck in a car with me.

Cash frowns at me even more. Turning to Aspyn, he says, “Nice to meet you, Aspyn. You have my number. If you have any concerns, please give me a call.”

“Okay, thank you, Cash. I’ll do that,” she says, stroking Pirate as she moves toward the kitchen. We ordered take-out after all, since neither of us can cook.
