Ellie slumped beside me on the bed, and I peered at her through my hands.
“Are you mad at me?”
“No!” She laughed, turning to gaze at me. “I love you, you wally. But I don’t want Logan breaking your heart like he has every other girl. You’ve been through enough.”
“But he’s just…divine, Ell’s.”
She wrinkled her nose up, prodding me in my side.
“Stop that shit. That’s my brother, don’t be gross.”
“Ok, but for real. If he and me… carry on, you’re okay with it?”
“It’s your life. I just don’t want to be the one that has to comfort you because I will fucking batter him if he hurts you. You’re so amazing, babes.”
“I’m still seeing him tonight,” I confessed, and she threw a pillow at me.
“That’s just sex, and you know it. But if that’s what you want.”
“God, this is a fucking mess.”
“Well,” Ellie declared cheerfully. “Look at it this way. You’ve slept with three people now.”
“Not helpful,” I giggled. “I need to go home.”
“I don’t want to hear anything about your soirée,” Ellie warned, tapping away on her phone.
“I won’t tell you anything.”
“Hey, hang on; what about Ted?” Ellie asked, sitting up with a gasp. “He’s hot. Why don’t you see him again?”
“Ellie! I’m sitting here telling you I’m into your brother, and you’re telling me to shag someone else!” I scolded, and she shrugged.
“Logan will be doing that, you know, don’t think otherwise.”

“Thanks,” I said sarcastically, leaning over to grab my phone and keys.
“You’re welcome, beautiful. Love you!”
“Love you too,” I muttered, trying not to look into Logan’s room as I passed, the pain in my chest too much to bear.

My phone vibrated in my hand, and I inhaled sharply to find a text from Logan.
