“In those jeans, I thinkeveryonewill be looking in your direction,” I pointed out, glancing at the skin-tight ripped jeans that revealed her curvy ass with perfectly positioned rips.

“I have to say, your outfit isn’t exactly screaming wallflower either,” Ellie said, and I shrugged my shoulders.

“Can we go already?” I hummed, sliding my phone out to see Logan hadn’t replied to my text message that I sent two hours ago.

I pushed away the anxiety that threatened to ruin my night before it even had a chance to begin, knowing that if Logan hadn’t replied, it was probably because he was partying with his friends.

Not everything is sinister. ItisLogan’s birthday, after all.

“Yes,” Ellie sang, walking past me in a cloud of sweet perfume.

Twenty minutes later, we walked into Raff’s house, which was filled with people and music. As the door shut behind us, my eyes scanned the room for Logan, instead finding countless people I didn’t know.

Ellie was her usual confident self, striding forward as she dragged me behind her. The girls seemed to congregate around the sofas in the front room; some were perched on the laps of guys, and others danced together between the sofas.

There was barely any space in the dining room, and we squeezed through the bodies as we aimed for the kitchen. Someone touched my lower back, and I saw someone with barely any teeth in his head leering at me.

Jesus.

Finally, we made it to the kitchen, and Ellie grabbed a bottle of vodka and sniffed it.

“What are you doing?” I laughed as she nodded her approval.

“Making sure it’s not fucking petrol.” She glanced around for glasses.

She’d be lucky to find any. The sides were covered in empty bottles and dusty loyalty cards, which made my stomach clench. Of course, there were drugs here.

“Well, there are no glasses, no mixers, and I know there’s no fucking ice,” Ellie said, holding the bottle up to me. “Do you wanna get fucked up?”

“You’re serious?” I laughed hollowly.

Ellie lifted the bottle to her lips and took a couple of swigs before her face twisted into one of disgust. Then, finally, she thrust the bottle into my hand. “It’ll get easier.”

I sucked at the clear liquid, grimacing as it burned my throat.

“That’s fucking vile.” I coughed, giving it back to Ellie, who cleared some space on the counter, hopping onto it with ease.

I was eager to see Logan, but I needed to chill the fuck out. We aren’t exclusive; we are just… Idon’t know what the fuck we are.But I hated knowing he was heresomewhereand not with me.

“Straight vodka? Hardcore,” A voice drawled as a trio of guys walked into the kitchen.

Three very attractive, ripped guys, actually. Ellie instantly adopted her flirtatious smile, waving her hand around the bare kitchen.

“Looks like we were lucky to find that.”

“I’ve got coke, but it isn’t the sort you can mix in a bottle of vodka.” The guy nearest to me chuckled, his eyes dragging up and down me as I arched a brow at him.

“You alright there?” I laughed, shaking my head as he bit his lip.

“Yeah, I’m good, man. So areyou.”

This wasn’t our usual sort of party. These weren’t the sort of guys we were used to, but this was Logan’s scene. Which meant I needed to stop being so anal.

“Thanks,” I said breezily, making eye contact with Ellie, who offered me back the bottle.

“Never seen you two around,” the dark-haired guy opposite me said, lighting a fag. He reminded me of Logan, and I gulped at the vodka.

Ellie’s right; it does get easier.
