We’re laughing again. I love this woman with all my heart. She has a way of calling me out and soothing my worst side, calming my spirits in the middle of a raging storm. I don’t know how she does it. It’s probably because she’s one of the few people in this world who knows me, probably better than I sometimes know myself. She’s also right.

“I’ll text them as soon as I get to the hotel letting them know that I’m okay, and that I’m coming to work tomorrow.”

“Where are you staying?”

“The Duke. It’s a nice place. I’m glad I’m able to afford it now,” I reply.

“Yeah, just don’t let Mikey raid the mini fridge. Those places charge a fortune for bottled water alone, don’t even get me started on the actual snacks,” Mira grumbles.

The final bill is literally the least of my concerns. Right now, I’m trying to get my head screwed on straight because the past couple of days have been a shady blur. Mostly because of me and my fear of losing something good. Something I’ve waited for so long. Something I didn’t think I’d ever come across.

Once I get us checked in, I give Mikey a quick bath and put him to bed in the second bedroom. In my haste to get out of town, I’d booked us a small suite. Because, why not?

The room offers a nice view of the city—a sea of glimmering lights everywhere, neatly cut into blocks and framed by streets that look like red rivers made of taillights. It’s oddly soothing to watch, as my brain finally begins to unwind. I’m amazed I’m able to get any clarity after how I gave in to my most primal instincts. Fear be damned.

I know I’ll have to face them tomorrow. I’ll have to walk into their office and openly talk about how I feel. It’s the only way forward, just like Mira said. And if they get apprehensive, if they turn away from me, then at least I’ll know where I stand.

I check on Mikey before taking a hot shower, letting the warmth of the water and the steam relax me. After lathering on one of the lotions the guys had given me—a lavender vanilla medley that smells amazing—I slip into a pair of cotton panties and a tank top, wrapping the plush hotel robe around me loosely.

A knock on my door startles me just as I’m about to hit the sack.

I open it without checking the peephole, too tired to think logically. Standing there in the hallway are Kace, Finn, and Elias, looking absolutely dashing. My knees almost give out at the sight of them. Not a hair out of place. Henley shirts fitting their muscular forms perfectly. Their eyes set on me with such intensity that I fear I might catch fire.

“Oh…” I manage.

“You didn’t have to run away like that,” Kace replies.

“We’d really like to talk,” Finn adds. His expression is serious, unusual for him.

I hang a Do Not Disturb sign on the doorknob and step back to let them in. “Please keep your voices down, Mikey is sleeping in the bedroom.”

The guys nod and follow me quietly into the living room area.

“I may have overreacted,” say, perhaps too quick to concede, but the words come out before I can stop them. “For that, I apologize.”

“Amaya—” Kace starts to speak, but I cut him off.

“No, let me say this while I still have the courage to say it. Whatever this is between us, it’s intense, it’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I’ve just put a toxic relationship behind me, so my circumstances are complicated, to say the least. Throw Mikey into the mix and needless to say, I’m a bit overwhelmed. I need to practice discretion, no matter how enticing the sexual attraction is.

“And Ramada and whatever other heiress or socialite you’ve got orbiting the three of you… it gets me worked up in all the wrong ways. I’m aware that it’s something I need to work on, which is why I needed some space tonight. That’s why I left. I had every intention of coming back.”

Elias nods slowly. “It seemed as though you were punishing us.”

“Amaya, again, I have to say it. There is absolutely nothing going on between Ramada and me,” Kace insists, taking a step closer, causing my heart to beat faster. “What she did back at the estate was incredibly inappropriate. I assure you, I have no intention of letting her get close enough to me for that to happen again. It was a terrible mistake, I should have pushed her away immediately. I didn’t see her coming. She took me by surprise, and I literally froze. I swear.”

“I know,” I sigh heavily. “It doesn’t really change the way I feel about it, but it’s my issue to deal with. I shouldn’t have let you think it was yours.”

Finn smiles softly. “We’ve never met anyone like you,” he says. “I know that probably sounds like a cliché.”

“It is a cliché,” Elias corrects him.

“Well, whatever. Cliché or not, that’s how we feel, and we are more than willing, eager even, to explore it further,” Finn replies, his green eyes set on mine. “You can’t deny the chemistry. The way the four of us work together, it’s quite something, don’t you agree?”

“I… yes,” I concede.

He comes closer, quick to wrap an arm around my waist. I’m breathless, my breasts pressed against his broad, rock-hard chest, his heart thudding against mine. “And you can’t deny that it’s more than just physical desire, either” Finn adds. “We’re connected. I can tell from the way we are when we’re together. My mind is clearer, sharper. Everything just feels right. I know you feel it too.”

“I most certainly do,” I say, his cock twitching. It presses into my lower belly, causing a delicious fire to burst and burn through me like there’s no tomorrow. “I didn’t mean to shut you out like that. Any of you.”
