That’s going to piss me off for a little while.

With a sigh, I grab her things and head back to my bedroom where she’s still sitting on the bed. There’s an amused smile on her face, but, honestly, I’m just grateful she’s not still as dazed.

I crouch down next to her and tug the blankets back. I gently put her socks on, and she’s gazing at me with a surprised look.

I draw the line at putting pants on her, though.

My dick twitches, and I move away from her.

“Get changed,” I command. She jumps once more and quickly does as I say as I head back to grab the food.

“I kept it simple,” I say once she climbs back onto the bed. She’s warmer now, the flush in her cheeks proving it. “Just chicken wraps. Do you like salad?”

She nods, so I make her one. I don’t look at her when I hand it over, instead, making one for myself. She doesn’t speak, doesn’t try to ruin this moment with her annoying voice.

“I never realised how hungry I was,” she says, rubbing at her stomach.

“I get the feeling that you and eating don’t come hand in hand,” I counter, and she shrugs.

In a pathetically sad voice, she asks, “When can I go home?”

And there it is. Instant mood killer.

She had to ruin it.

With a snarl, I grab my wrap and bite off a chunk. Rather than snap at her again, I’ll just eat. Hopefully that’ll soothe my mood.

My phone buzzes, and I sigh, checking it over. Oh shit.

“I’ve got to go,” I say, and she nods, murmuring soft thank you’s for the food.

If it weren’t for maintaining my cover, I’d not bother going. But I’ve got no choice. To get my revenge, to get justice for Lainey, I need to put in the effort.

Even if it means leaving Nora in my bed

She starts to sniffle, some fake sadness overtaking her.

But I don’t bother looking back as I leave.

Nora is not my priority.

She’s just a random woman who stays in my house.

In my bed.

And she’s not allowed to leave.

It’s a totally normal relationship.

NORA’S WOLF

My human is in denial. She doesn’t see what is right in front of her.

She doesn’t see how different he is.

How badly he needs us.

He’s jaded. Broken. His mind is not his own.
