‘Well, you mentioned you’d like to go on holiday and suggested Bognor or Saint Barts. Unfortunately, I don’t have another sports car to flog, so this year the Caribbean is out. However, I’ve learnt that Bognor is the UK’s sunniest town and the home of sea views and coastal panoramas, where the natural backdrop and unspoilt charm inspire blue-sky thinking and bright ideas.’

‘Where on earth did you learn that?’

‘A website called, “Love Bognor Regis”.’

She snorted.

‘So, anyway,’ he continued, ‘I thought we could run it through the books as a team-building event.’

‘Who’s coming?’

‘You, multiple times a day. And me, of course, to supply the orgasms.’

Estelle thought of all the work they still had to do. ‘But—’

‘It’s fine. We can work next week on the urgent stuff, then leave Carly in charge. And I’m sure Molly wouldn’t mind having Chester and Joy again?’

She squealed inside. When was the last time she’d been on holiday? ‘Are you sure?’

‘Ninety-nine per cent.’

‘And the other one per cent?’

‘Would rather we were in Saint Barts.’

She burst out laughing. ‘Okay, I’m sold. Bognor Regis it is. Whose car are we going in?’

‘The cleanest and most reliable.’

‘Oh. So, I’d better get the Defender booked in for a full service and valet then.’

He grinned. ‘Sounds like a plan. Although…’

‘Ye-es?’

He pulled her onto his chest. ‘If I’m with you, I don’t give a shit about being seen in my car.’

‘Really?’

‘Yeah, I’m just going to call you “Barb” really loudly whenever we’re in it.’

‘Jamesy-boy, you’re going down.’ She pummelled his chest as he laughed.

He flipped her onto her back, caught her wrists and held her arms over her head, kissing her until she was moaning and writhing in his arms.

‘I love you,’ he murmured. ‘I fucking love you.’

Spreading her legs, she angled her hips up and he pushed inside her.

His mouth found hers again and she rubbed her breasts against his chest, moaning with pleasure.

As their bodies moved together, her soul sang. This was a completeness she’d never known before, with someone who surprised and challenged her at every turn. For a man she’d thought was wrong on every level, there was now no doubt in her mind that for her, James Hunter-Savage was one hundred per cent right.

EPILOGUE

Estelle gazed down, utterly captivated, as a tiny hand curled around her finger and two dark eyes held hers.

‘Just look at him,’ she whispered to James. ‘Isn’t he perfect?’
