Page 73 of Hooking a Hottie

That deep seeded crush - love… it’s love… - burned red-hot in me.

“I know you got my text,” Sage said. “Why aren’t you driving?”

I opened my mouth and she pointed at me.

“Everything is taken care of, Henry,” she said. “I’ve done all I’m supposed to do, okay? I’ve honored him as much as I can. I gave him what he wanted. Now, as far as Travis goes, he’s with a friend. That woman I was talking to? That’s Alex. She’s probably my best friend around here. Her son and Travis play football together. Alex offered to take Travis for the night, just to give him something to do. Instead of going back to the house. Which makes sense to me. You know? I don’t feel like going back to the house just yet myself. So, if you’re done being such a good guy, put this tank of a vehicle into drive and find someplace to buy me a drink. Because we both know how badly you want to buy me a drink. Right? Henry?”

Sage batted her eyes at me.

I kid you not, I felt my balls twist and lift like they wanted to climb up into my stomach. My cock suddenly felt full and warm.

I had to shift in my seat as I cleared my throat and swallowed hard.

I guess there was nothing to say.

I started to drive.

“First kiss,” Sage said as she rolled a peanut shell between her thumb and forefinger.

“What?”

“First kiss. Come on. Don’t get all shy on me.”

“This is what you want to talk about?” I asked.

Sage turned her body toward the bar. “Hey, Steph. Can you come over here?”

Here came the bartender.

A pretty woman with black hair twisted up into a bun on top of her head.

A shirt that once had sleeves but was obviously cut by her. Tattoos on her arms, shoulder to wrist. Bright red lipstick, a nose ring, and dark eyes.

I could easily see her as every man’s dream as they sat at this bar and chased away whatever hurt their heart.

“What do you think of Henry?” Sage asked.

“Think of…?”

“It’s okay. Tell the truth. Scale of one to ten?”

“Hockey player?” Steph asked. “Instant twenty.”

“Would you kiss him right now?”

“I’d close down this bar and do more than that,” Steph said.

I laughed. “What is the point of this? You were asking about my first kiss and now you have the bartender involved.”

“First kisses?” Steph asked. “Mine was with a girl. We were practicing for boys. Ended up that we didn’t need any boys.”

She winked and grabbed our glasses for refills.

“What was the point of that?” I asked Sage.

“To put you on the spot. See what you would do.”

“Why don’t you tell me about your first kiss,” I said.
