“I’ve got plans this afternoon.”

“With who? Bones?”

As I walked toward the bakery, I couldn’t stop the slow grin appearing across my lips. “You jealous?”

“If I said yes, would that make you happy?”

Dangerous territory.

“I don’t have plans with Bones,” I said, not answering his questions. “Jazz gets off work at two and I’m going to hang out with her and Brielle.”

“Ah.”

“I can see the property tomorrow, though.”

“Four o’clock okay?”

“Yeah, that’s works.”

“I’ll come to you. Then we’ll take your car.”

“Sounds good.”

“Okay.”

“Okay.”

There was a slight pause.

“Well, I’ll see you tomorrow then,” he said finally.

“Tomorrow,” I agreed. “Smoke?”

“Yeah?”

I took a deep breath. “I like that you’re jealous.”

I hung up before he could reply.

Still grinning, I walked into the bakery. Willa and Mia were sitting with Jazz at a table in the corner, along with a beautiful redhead I didn’t recognize.

“Logan,” Jazz called out, waving me over.

“Did you just work out?” Willa asked. “You’re flushed.”

“Yep.”

“Hi, I’m Brielle,” the redhead introduced.

“Oh, hey!” I looked at Jazz. “You told me two, and that Brielle wasn’t working today.”

“I did,” Jazz said. “But the four of us are planning Brooklyn’s surprise baby shower, so Brielle came early to discuss the menu, the cake. Stuff like that.”

“Fun,” I said.

“You and Tavy are invited,” Willa said.

“Oh,” I said, feeling warm inside. “That’s nice. Is there a registry?”
