“Now tell me.”
“Jaden and I are—” I begin.

“When did you start serving?”

“I think we’re good for now. Rae?”

“You’re welcome. Flag me down if you all need anything. I’ll be around.” He squeezes my shoulder, then turns and walks back toward the double doors leading to the kitchen.
“Jesus, Blaire. How in the hell can you control yourself? He’s beautiful.” Rae lets out a long sigh and pretends to wipe drool from her mouth.
“I have to control myself. That’s how. He’s more than beautiful. He’s worth the wait.” I turn my chair and watch Jaden bring food to another table near us. He mesmerizes every cell in my body.
We finish our meal and Rae pays the tab. When we get to my car, Jaden’s waiting for me. I smile as I walk toward him. It’s still risky to be this close to him, but I need to kiss him. Fuck it, my inner bad girl says as I approach him.
Rae instinctively says, “Hey, I think I left my phone on the table. Be right back.” She winks and turns, walking back inside The Oasis.

“Hey.” I press the key fob and the car beeps. I glance around the packed parking lot. No one is here and no cars are pulling into the lot. I grab his hands and yank him to me.
