If he could find someone who liked the island living and wouldn’t mind his hours.

That seemed to be a bigger issue in the past few years.

He supposed he could easily move to Boston and fly out of there. It wasn’t a big deal.

Roxy and Rob were doing it. It’d be workable, but it was not where he wanted to be.

“I don’t even want to think of it,” she said. “It’s a fact of life and though I want kids at some point, the way to get them out isn’t something that sounds like a lot of fun.”

“Nope,” he said. “I wouldn’t want to be a woman.”

“That’s kind of a sweet thing to say,” she said.

Lincoln felt his face flush when he didn’t normally have that reaction over anything.

“Do you make sweets too?” he asked. Might as well turn this around if he could.

“I do, but pastry isn’t my thing.”

“It seemed it with the crust on what I just ate,” he said.

“I can do just about anything, but I’ve got cuisine I’m better at than others,” she said. “Just like most people.”

He nodded and they continued to talk about the island and other mundane topics. He landed and then went into the offices as Grace took her leave to go to the garage and get a car.

“What are you doing here?” he asked Egan when he saw him at the desk.

“I got back early. My client was done faster than they thought and we returned. I’ve got two hours before my next flight.”

“I’m leaving as soon as I load up the helicopter,” he said. “I’ve got to get back to return your cousin but can squeeze this in easily.”

He was going to bring some private art to a collector in New York City. That would take up three hours of flight time round trip. He figured Grace wouldn’t be complaining if he was a little late but didn’t think that would happen.

“She’d wait for you,” Egan said.

“Yep. She said she would,” he said.

It’d come up while they were chatting. He didn’t know what she had planned for her time in Boston and didn’t ask.

“Grace doesn’t normally get rides on the helicopter,” Egan said. “That’s two now in a month.”

He shrugged. “I guess. I don’t pay much attention. For all I know she’s ridden with you.”

“Not often,” Egan said. “She always rides with you.”

He looked at Egan’s smile. “So?”

“And she brought you food a month ago.”

“So?” he said again.

“You had a drink with her after the flight,” Egan said.

He’d told Egan about it. Just in passing and nothing more. “Not a big deal.”

“Did she bring you food today?” Egan asked.

“Yeah. But I’m not sharing.” He smirked and ran his hand over his belly.
