“All eyes should be on the bride and groom.”

“They will be,” Janet said. “However, the new couple is you.”

“We were the new couple at the last wedding. Someone else can get the spotlight now.”

“There are still plenty of single cousins here but no one that I’ve heard that is seeing someone, so sorry,” Janet said.

He rolled his eyes and moved back when the photographer came through the same door Janet had.

Pictures were being snapped between father and son, Egan being silly in half of them and holding Kaden over his head. “Hope he didn’t have a bottle recently and spits it up on you.”

The minute he said that Kaden came back down into Egan’s arms. “It’d be a nice decoration on my tux, but by the look on my mother’s face, she wouldn’t appreciate it in the pictures.”

“Anything can be edited,” the photographer said.

“Sweet,” Egan said, lifting his son again and jiggling him to get a smile.

He had to give Egan credit for being bold.

“Both of you now with Kaden,” Janet said. “Maybe Grace wouldn’t mind seeing some shots of Lincoln holding a baby.”

“Not subtle at all, Mom,” Egan said.

“I wasn’t trying to be. You both should know that by now.”

Lincoln took Kaden out of Egan’s hands and held the baby, Egan putting his arm around Lincoln’s shoulder and them smiling.

An hour later, he found himself down in the big ballroom, standing at the altar next to Egan while they waited for the wedding to start.

Eli and Ethan both walked their mother down together.

The music changed and Carissa came down next in a light blue dress, followed by the bride on her father’s arm.

When he heard sniffling he leaned forward and Egan turned to look at him. Yep, his best friend was starting to get teary-eyed and caught one tear before it escaped.

He was looking around and saw Grace, her eyes on his. He smiled and turned his attention back to the wedding party.

Conrad, Blake’s father, was carrying Kaden in his right arm while Blake had her arm through her father’s left.

When they got to the end, Kaden was handed to Carissa and Blake presented to Egan. “There’s my girl,” Egan said with a smile almost filling the room.

Everyone laughed, Blake included.

“Soon to be wife,” Blake said.

“Thank God,” Egan said, wiping a hand over his brow.

The officiant marrying them cleared his throat and the ceremony started.

It was short and to the point, everyone walking back down after. The wedding party and parents went off to take more pictures, some down on the beach while the guests would go to another room for food and drink so this room could be transformed for the reception.

After an hour of pictures, and Egan even taking his shoes off and arguing they were on the beach and it’d be expected, they found themselves getting ready to be announced into the reception.

Lincoln walked in with Carissa, Egan and Blake all but strutting in when they were called. Well, Egan was and, again, to be expected.

The first dance was done and everyone was seated.

When it came time for his toast, Lincoln grabbed the mic and said, “I’m not going to make this long. We are all hungry.” Kaden let out a shout. “See what I mean.” There was laughter there, and Janet quickly put a bottle in Kaden’s mouth. “Years ago, I came to Boston with a friend. We got lost on the docks looking for a pub. I walked into Bond Charter to ask for directions. That’s right, I wasn’t afraid to do that.”
