Matt chuckled, then settled back down into the chair next to me. “It’s nice to not be the fuck-up on the hot seat for once.”
“I’ll fuck you up if you want,” I growled.
He chuckled. “Well, honestly, I think you cracked my neck last night.”
Gabe looked from Matt to me and back to Matt. “Do I even want to know what the two of you did last night?”
I shook my head.
Then Gabe narrowed his eyes. “Wait, Fee was with you last night, wasn’t she?”
He stared at Matt, then back at me, and I could see the unanswered questions and accusations written on his face.
What exactly did the both of you do with her?
Matt and I both raised our hands simultaneously. “The two of us rolled. You have a very dirty mind. Does your wife know?” I said.
Matt chuckled.
And Gabe…he sighed. “Sophie told me Fee’s always been much more…experienced than her. But after what happened, she’s a bit…”
I sucked in a breath. “Yeah, let’s talk about that.”
Gabe narrowed his eyes and stared at me.
I held his gaze. This was important. “What exactly happened to Fee and Sophie’s sisters during their captivity?”
“Well,” Gabe sighed. “He separated Sophie from Fee, Jemma, and Cara.”
“And?” I narrowed my eyes.
“And what?” Gabe snapped, apparently losing his patience, or maybe the memories were still too painful for him.
“Did you look into what happened to them?”
He stared back at me. “No, I guess they were being held in Verona while Sophie was transported to Calabria.”
“And?”
“Apart from Enzo being in Verona, I didn’t look into it too deeply. They were fine when we rescued them,” Gabe said.
Fine?
Fine wouldn’t be my word of choice to describe Fee’s reaction last night.
And “they seemed fine” didn’t mean “they were fine” after being in captivity for almost a week.
It didn’t mean they hadn’t endured god-knows-what. “So, you never looked into it?”
He narrowed his brows. “No. I didn’t.”
I nodded.
“Alex?” Gabe’s voice was low and held an edge.
“Yes.”
“What’s happening between you and Fee?”
