“If you lose?” one of the demons below asks.

The demoness smiles maliciously. “I won’t.”

Infusing my power into my hand, I hold it out to Daemera. She shakes it and I seal the pact of battle. If she wins, the demons on the field won’t be able to be near her or they will burn. A bright white light emanating from our hands seals the deal. She walks down to the field, standing between the fighting demons with her pitchfork in hand. Closing the barrier, I yell out, “Let the battle resume!”

The crowd cheers, and I turn back to Brianna. She rolled her eyes, she topped from the bottom, she demanded things rather than asked. I give her my own malevolent smile.

It’s her turn for punishment.

26. Bree

“Why are you looking at me like that?” He’s looking at me like I’m meat. Like I’m his to devour. Like I’m prey.

I mean, compared to him, I probably am prey.

I back up until my legs hit his throne and I fall into it. “Where are you going, Babygirl?” He stalks forward until he’s directly in front of me, caging me in with his arms, his wings blocking the crowd from view. I try to open my mouth, but no words come out. My emotions are all over the place, caught between rage of the day, anxiety, and now, overwhelming lust at Satan towering over me. “Want to play a game?”

“What game?” My voice comes out breathless rather than the strong and steady I was hoping for.

“You have two options. We can leave the arena and you’ll get an inadvertent tour through Hell, or we can stay until this battle is done and play on the field.”

I would love a tour through Hell but not like this. Whatever he has in mind is dangerous. “Would there be an audience for this game?”

He licks his black lips bringing my attention to them. So plump and covering fangs tipped in red. I wouldn’t mind them on me. “Would you like an audience?”

If I knew the game, then maybe. But if he can see in my head like I believe the others can, he probably has an idea of what I’m imagining. Would I want an audience for that? “No.”

“Hell, or field?”

Steeling my spine, I look him straight in the eyes. Whatever game this is, I will win. “Field.” He gives a dark laugh before plucking me up from his throne and sitting, placing me on his lap again to face the battle. I move to sit more modestly but he grabs my left thigh, holding my legs open. “What are you doing?”

“Sit still,” he commands. His giant red hand makes my thigh look miniscule. Devil slowly caresses my thigh higher and higher until his fingertips touch the edge of my silk panties, which are currently soaked. I wait for him to move higher, to actually touch me where I need him to, but he doesn’t. When I wiggle to feel his fingers press more firmly against me, he lifts his hand only to bring it back down hard against the inside of my thigh. “Sit. Still.”

Fuck! Satan holds my thigh firmly open. I try to relax my body, leaning back against his chest, placing my head on his shoulder. Forcing myself not to move makes me want to twitch even more. I’m so focused on not moving that when the crowd starts to cheer, it makes me jump. “What’s going on?”

Satan stands, shifting me so that I’m being carried bridal style, and flies to the edge of the field. He opens the barrier which makes me realize how big this arena actually is. From his box, it looked like a normal football stadium; however, from the sidelines I can tell that the barrier also acted as a magnifying glass. This arena is huge from the ground.

Devil sets me on my feet as we stand before the succubus. “Congratulations, Daemera. These two will no longer be allowed in the same room as you.” He holds out his hand to her. Daemera goes to place her weapon in his hand, but he tells her no. “You fought well. The weapon is yours.” She pulls it back to her side and shakes his hand. “Should we ever be in war; I would love to have you as part of my battalion.”

Daemera’s eyes grow wide, and her mouth drops open. “Thank you, King Wrath.”

“Don’t thank me.” He steps to the side, bringing me into view. “Thank her. She stopped to ask if it was something you wanted. I apologize for not paying more attention to the happenings of my arena.”

A seductive smirk covers her mouth. “Thank you. I’d love to repay the favor.” The succubus licks her lips.

I’m sure she has something specific in mind, which, let’s be honest, I would be totally down for. But I currently am juggling between enough demons and possibly a fallen angel. “You know what? You can repay that favor by hanging out with me. I currently only have one female friend and I am constantly surrounded by testosterone. A new feminine touch in my life would be amazing.”

Her smirk becomes a genuine smile at my suggestion. “I would love that! The Ubus are always fighting for attention! I would love to be around someone without fear that I’ll be fought over in an arena!” We both laugh at her joke. She turns to Satan. “Paper?” He materializes a blank piece of paper and Daemera uses the blood on her body from the fight to draw a symbol on it. “Hold your hand on this paper and say my name and the words ‘come to me’ exactly and I will appear.” She hands the paper to me and winks. “Can't wait to see you!” Daemera salutes Wrath, then disappears out of view.

Satan turns to me, a stern glare on his face. “You will not summon a succubus to Earth.”

“Cause you're my dad, right?” I cross my arms over my chest and cock a hip out. “I'll do whatever I want, thank you.” He can glare all he wants. I want friends again. And Daemera seems awesome, demon or not!

Devil must give up because he abruptly spins around, turning his glare to the two demons on the ground, finally picking themselves up. “Leave. And don't go near Daemera. If you enter the same building as her, you will feel tremendous pain.” He places two fingers against both of their foreheads, his hand lighting with power. When the light fades, the demons are gone.

Looking around the field, I take in how big it is. Definitely bigger than a stadium. It's like a big oval clock, each time a different terrain. Desert turns to the beach, then to dark water with a volcano, marsh, meadow, forest, mountain, snow, then cliffs mark the edge as they hang over the desert. We're currently standing in the middle of the field on stone. “This place is amazing.”

“I like my fighters to have every advantage possible. You're about to be more acquainted with it.” What did he mean? “You're going to pick a terrain and then run.”
