Gorgeous. The man was too fucking gorgeous for his own good, even when he was scowling.

Levi scanned the boat, along with the others nearby, and even with his sunglasses on, I could feel the way his eyes narrowed on me. “What is this?”

“An EasyRider 069,” I said, stroking the edge of the rail. “With a number like that, I couldn’t resist.”

“Why doesn’t that surprise me?” he muttered, and then sighed. “I was under the impression everyone was coming.”

I shrugged. “Maybe they’re running late.”

“There aren’t enough seats. The boat looks like it barely holds four people.”

“Five, actually.” I got to my feet and pulled the keys from my pocket. “If you’re coming, get in.”

Moving behind the wheel, I looked back to see Levi still standing on the dock, his arms crossed.

“Tell me you didn’t rent this for the two of us,” he said.

“I didn’t rent this for the two of us.” It wasn’t a lie if he told me to say it.

He shook his head. “I don’t believe you. I think you manipulated me into coming down here so I’ll talk to you.”

Well, he technically was talking to me, so my plan had worked already. “Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t.”

“This is some bullshit.” Levi turned around and started back up the dock until I called out for him to stop.

“Levi, you’re already here—

“Thanks to you—”

“—so you may as well get in.”

He strolled back to the boat. “Yeah? So I can waste even more of my day listening to your lame-ass excuses?” He snorted. “No thanks.”

“Levi.” I sighed, clenching my hands around the wheel as I struggled for patience. The guy was going to drive me out of my mind, and at this point, I didn’t know whether I wanted to spend the day with him or pitch him overboard. “Look, you don’t have to talk to me. You just have to get in the boat with me.”

Levi pushed his sunglasses up on top of his head and crouched down so we were at eye level. “You sure you have the right brother? Maybe you meant to call Liam.”

“Oh, give it up, for fuck’s sake,” I said, rolling my eyes as I walked back toward the front of the boat. “You know better.”

“Do I?”

“Yes. And if you don’t know now, you will once you get in the boat.”

“Ahh, so I’m right? It’s just you and me, stuck together in the middle of the harbor so that unless I want to take a dive, I can’t escape.”

“Oh, Levi,” I practically purred, holding his gaze as I reached up to finger his shirt, pulling him closer until I could feel his warm breath against my lips. “Why would you ever want to escape?”

His eyes bored into mine, jaw set, but I could see the way he swallowed, like he wanted exactly what I was ready to give him but his pride wouldn’t allow him to acquiesce so easily.

It was a long minute before he spoke again.

“You’re in my way,” he said quietly.

I blinked, wondering if I’d heard him correctly. I still had a hold of his shirt, and the thought crossed my mind that if I let go, he’d take off.

Choosing to believe he wanted to stay, I dropped my hand and took a step back.

Levi stared at me for a long moment, and then ran his hand through his hair. “Don’t make me regret this,” he said, before stepping down into the boat.

Turning away before he could see the smile on my face, I headed back to the driver’s seat and started up the engine.

“Do me a favor.” I nodded toward where the boat was attached by a rope to the dock. “Untie the rope from the piling so we can head out.”

Levi made quick work of the rope, and as I backed us away from the pier, he took a seat in the front, as far away from me as possible. It didn’t matter, though—there was no escaping me now.

I’M WEAK. SO damn weak when it comes to Killian. That was my only excuse for how I’d ended up sitting at the front of this damn boat with the wind in my hair, the sun on my face, and the fresh, salty spray from the harbor misting over my skin.

Well, that, and it was a gorgeous day, and even with how annoyed I was at the man standing behind the wheel, I wasn’t about to pass up on the opportunity to see the Sydney Harbor from the water.

With my sunglasses in place, I made it a point to turn my back on Killian and watch the boats, ferries, and scenery we were passing by, determined to keep my distance even though he’d managed to corner me on a boat no bigger than the bathroom back in my hotel suite.

Still annoyed at having walked up on Killian putting the moves on my brother, I’d tried my hardest to avoid him at all costs since then, only to find myself within the same vicinity of the gorgeous bastard at every turn I made.
