“Earth to Killian.” Viper shook his head. “That moony face you get is enough to make me gag. Can we eat now before I start dry heaving?”

Halo snorted. “You are such a hypocrite, you know that?”

“You callin’ me out, Angel?”

“Damn right I am. Kill’s not the only one who gets that look on his face.” Halo placed his mouth by Viper’s ear and whispered something that had Viper grabbing two handfuls of Halo’s ass, like he was ready to haul him away.

Thank God Levi chose that moment to throw open the rehearsal room door, sending it slamming back into the stopper with a loud noise that had everyone’s attention turning his way.

Oh shit. The look on his face was unreadable as ever, which meant the news could be good…or it could spell a change for Fallen Angel.

Levi scanned the room, stopping when he saw me. Then he smiled. “Looks like the food’s ready. Let’s eat.”

Silence engulfed the space as we all stared at Levi, who made his way to the kitchen and picked up a plate like we weren’t all dying to hear what he wasn’t saying.

Stacking his plate with macaroni salad and baked beans, Levi ignored the tension in the air and moved on down the line. Hamburger bun, cheese, lettuce, tomato. As he reached for one of the patties, I grabbed his arm.

Levi looked down at the hold I had on him, and then his eyes flicked to where I was anxiously spinning the platinum band on my left hand with my thumb. He reached for my hand, running his fingers over my knuckles and the ring, and then he softly kissed my lips.

“Don’t worry,” he said, and then he let go of me and went back to building his hamburger.

The knots in my stomach loosened slightly, but I knew they wouldn’t completely go away until I knew for sure how things were going.

“You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me,” Jagger said, shooting to his feet, his hands on his hips. “Spill it, man.”

Slade nodded, but didn’t move from Imogen’s side. “Just tell us already.”

“Yeah, so we know whether to celebrate or throw ourselves off the fuckin’ balcony,” Viper cracked, and then he let out an “oof” and a laugh as Halo’s elbow rammed into his side.

I didn’t often use my and Levi’s relationship as leverage in the band, since, despite everything, Levi still wanted to maintain some sense of a professional line, but in this case, I was going to work him to my advantage.

As Levi set his plate down on the dining table, I moved around the island, stopping behind him and wrapping my arms around his waist.

“Babe?” I said, my lips on his neck sending a shiver through him that had my cock stiffening in an instant. Not now, I thought, as Levi covered my hands where they rested on his stomach. The sunlight pouring in caused the matching platinum band on his hand to gleam, and I relished the sight, though I’d had three months to get used to it.

Husband. Even now I had to pinch myself, because the word seemed so foreign and yet so important at the same time.

I kissed Levi’s neck softly. “I think you’re going to have a riot on your hands if you put this off any longer.”

“Including yourself in that?”

“Damn right I am. You’re killing me here.” I pushed my hips into his ass so he could feel my growing erection. “In all the ways.”

Levi’s chest rumbled with laughter, and then he spun around to face me. His eyes glinted with amusement, and I couldn’t help myself. I had to have a taste.

As always, Levi’s mouth opened to mine immediately, and I took my time, teasing his tongue, savoring the way his lips against mine felt so right. They always had.

Like home.

“Jesus Christ, I know you’re newlyweds, but can you give it a fucking rest? Some of us want to eat,” Viper grumbled, and Levi pushed me away. The hint of a smile on his face told me he wasn’t done with me yet, but it would have to wait.

For now.

Levi cleared his throat and stepped around me, every eye in the house focused completely on him. “I guess you want to know how the album’s doing.”

“No shit,” Imogen said, causing both her guys to chuckle.

“Fair enough,” Levi said. “I just got off the phone with a contact of mine who’s got the early numbers, and I feel like we need to talk.”

My stomach dropped. We need to talk was never something good, and I could see the instant worry on the rest of the guys’ faces as well. Shit.

Levi took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Guys…when your Corruption album hit, it was a crazy time. You were the hot new band with a killer new lead singer, and the songs were dirty, edgy. Different. A million albums sold in a week is an unheard-of number for anyone anymore.”
