“Yeah, sorry.” I mumble before Sadie looks up at me, smirking.
“Well, Prez,” Tally looks to me, “Good to see that you’re actually getting some—” I cut him off by my glare alone, his eyes widen, and he stammers for a second before saying, “laid.” I hear Sadie giggle next to me and then I reach over, grabbing my kutte and bringing it around my body.
“Why you want the kuttes?” Venom asks and I smirk back at him.
“Because if one of us die in there, I want them to fucking know who was here. And by tomorrow The Marauders will be aware of us. One way or another.” I can feel Sadie’s eyes on me the second I mention dying. The men pull vests out, putting them on, then grabbing the guns and loading them up.
“Ro.” Venom says, as I glance over, he tosses 2 comms.
“Thanks.” I mumble as I hand one over to Sadie who then watches as I put mine in.
Reaching into my pocket, I finger the key and look back at Sadie, pulling it out, I grab her hand and place it on her palm before her wide eyes look back up at me. “What are you doing?” She asks.
“Regardless of what happens—”
“Ro, no.” She whispers, cutting me off.
“Sadie, just listen. Regardless of what happens in there, you’re getting out of here.” I tilt her chin to look up at me. “If things start going south and I tell you to go, go. Get back here, into the tunnel, run as fast as you can to the ladder and don’t stop until you get back to the bike, take it, and leave. Okay?”
“Ro…” She trails this time.
“Sadie, no, this isn’t a discussion.” I say sternly to her, demanding her to follow what I’m saying.
“Okay.” She glances down before she sighs and looks back up, right at me. “If I know there’s nothing I can do and you tell me to go, I’ll make it back.”
“Thank you.” I whisper to her before I lean into her and with one last kiss before I tug her behind me out of the room, hesitating for a second before I grab an extendable nightstick, handing it to her before grabbing two, clipping them onto my belt. Sure, they’re bulky, but probably come in handy. “Stay with me.” I say, glancing at her, and she nods.
We make it where the entire club in convened at the entrance to the tunnel, they part like the fucking Red Sea to let Sadie and I through until we are in the front of them all. I glance at the screen displaying the hidden cameras and Sadie looks at me confused.
“There’s still power in here?” She asks it, confused.
Tally starts explaining to her from behind me as I count how many men there are inside as well as guarding the perimeter. “It’s hardwired into the warehouse. As long as the warehouse has power, so does this.”
“And they’ve never been down here?” She asks.
“They never knew about it.” I turn and tell her. “I never told the parent charter; I owned this well before the club. They never asked, so I never offered up the information.”
“How’d they end up with it, then?”
“Technically, it’s still mine.” I tell her.
“Can’t you just make them leave then?” I can’t help but laugh.
“Oh, come on, Nightmare. You’ve been around MCs for long enough to know that we handle things our own way.”
Chapter Eighteen
RO
“Ready?” I look over, asking Sadie, and watching as she nods her head. “Good.” Checking the camera one more time and then I look back over at my brothers. “We work through as a team. When we get out in the basement hallway Venom, Enzo, and I will go up to the offices.” Everyone nods their heads. Turning around once more, I look at Sadie, and cut my eyes at her. “Stay with me.”
“We’ll all keep an eye on her, too.” I hear Enzo say from the back and agreement filters around the men.
Turning around I look at them, nodding my head and say, “Thank you.”
“Whether or not she’s officially your Ol’ lady,” my head snaps to glance at Sadie whose eyes are nearly as wide as mine. “We’ve got your back.” I just nod my head before I press the button on the door, and it opens before something catches my eye on the camera.
“You’re fucking kidding me?” I mumble.
