“Nawl.” I shook my head before handing her the note. “Somebody sent me this weird-ass shit, and from the sound of it, it feels like Marissa’s messy ass.”
“What the fuck?”
Drayla snatched the napkin out of my hand before reading it herself.
“Man, I’m sick of this hoe,” she muttered after a second.
“Me too,” I sighed, rubbing my forehead.
“Didn’t you already whoop her ass once?”
“Yes. In the bathroom at the movies,” I replied.
“And that still wasn’t enough?”
“I guess not.”
That’s what I didn’t understand.
At some point, a bitch gotta realize when a nigga don’t want her anymore. Kyrie had made it clear as day he moved on, so why the hell was she still holding on this hard?
If a man told me he ain’t want me no more, and he was happy with somebody else, I’d leave his ass alone and move around. I damn sure wouldn’t be running around harassing the next woman over him.
That shit was weird.
I’d rather go find somebody who actually wanted me instead of forcing myself onto somebody who didn’t. But I guess that was the difference between me and bitches like Marissa. Some hoes ain’t know how to take no for an answer.
Drayla sucked her teeth before crumpling the napkin in her hand.
“Man, fuck that weird-ass bitch,” she muttered. “Don’t let her ruin your night.”
I tried to brush it off, but honestly? The shit had already gotten under my skin.
Still, I nodded anyway before grabbing my drink again. “You right.”
“Exactly. Now come on.” She grabbed my hand again. “We outside.”
I laughed softly while letting her pull me back toward the dance floor.
For the next minute or so, I tried my best to get back into the vibe. The drinks were hitting, the music was loud, and Drayla was acting a fool beside me dancing, but mentally? I wasn’t fully there anymore.
My eyes kept wandering around the club every few seconds.
Every time somebody looked over too long, my stomach tightened. Every time I saw someone holding a phone up, I instantly wondered if they were recording me.
Paranoid as hell. And I hated it. Cause now I finally understood why Kyrie sometimes acted the way he did.
My phone buzzed again in my hand.
Kyrie:Why your replies dry now?
A small sigh left my lips.
See? This man paid attention to everything.
Me:Nothing. I’m fine.
Almost immediately, the typing bubble popped back up.
