Chapter nine

Banshee

“How do you want to do this, Banshee?” Zeus asked after explaining what was happening.

“I’m going to walk right up to Flame, and stick my fist in his fucking face. I’ll introduce my fist and his face a couple of more times. Maybe introduce my foot to his ribcage a few times. Then I’ll choke the living hell out of him for keeping Finley from me. I’ll enjoy watching his life leave him. Then I’ll bring Finley back here and never let her leave the compound again.”

Clara laughed, patting my shoulder as she rocked back and forth with Lilly in her arms. “I understand the whole alpha male need to take care of their woman mentality. I married, and procreated with it. Hell, it’s sexy as fuck, but you can’t keep us locked in. Finley is smart. She wouldn’t have put herself in a situation where she would get hurt. You’re probably going to get to the Outsiders’ property, and she’ll be reading Flame the riot act for the way he’s been treating her. You need to calm down, she’s fine.”

“I hope you’re fucking right, Clara. I would gladly be wrong in this situation,” I said to her.

“You’re lucky, Banshee. Clara’s right, Finley wouldn’t do anything to get her in a sticky situation. Unlike my wife, who snuck out, not once, but twice.” Zeus kissed Clara with love on his face. His voice didn’t hold back the real fear he felt when Clara snuck out of the compound twice, and almost got killed by her ex-boyfriend both times.

Billie held onto my other shoulder. “I didn’t even sneak out,” Billie said giving Clara a guilty look, but wanting to stick up for her biker sister. “And I still got caught in some shit, because of my brother. But the thing is, both of us were strong enough to survive it, and Finley is, too. And that’s if something is going on. We still don’t know what is happening, and we won’t until we talk to Finley.”

“What is it with brother’s trying to mess with our women?” I asked.

“Let’s not talk about Billie’s brother,” Marshal growled pulling Billie close to him as if he needed to touch her, and I understood him completely. My palms itched with the need to hold Finley close. To guarantee she was safe.

“Yes, but I’m safe. You can’t protect us constantly, but know the Reaper’s Rebels don’t fall in love with bitches. We’re strong and resilient. I promise she’ll be fine.” Billie kissed Marshal on the cheek.

“All right, what do you suggest?” I asked, pulling my eyes off the two happy couples.

We came up with a plan, and finally after way too long we were pulling out of the compound. Our bikes rumbled ominously, almost declaring to the sky that someone was about to die.

When we got to the Outsiders’ property I didn’t see Finley’s bike. My fear spiked, wondering if we missed her. Wondering if she was already on her way back to the Reaper’s compound.

I pulled out my phone, no missed calls or texts. Hitting speed dial, her phone rang before her voicemail picked up. Hearing her recorded voice had my rage simmering to the edge. When Flame walked out, my rage poured out of me in waves.

“Where the fuck is she?” I asked, jumping off my bike.

The rest of the crew followed me. Zeus placed his hand on my shoulder trying to calm me down. It took everything I had not to shrug him off of me.

“She’s not here. She said she needed to get away for awhile, that she needed to think about what she was doing. She doesn’t want to lose me, and she was afraid it would ruin our family.”

“Bullshit, where is she?” I stepped forward, Zeus and everyone else mirrored my movement.

“I told you she’s not here. She’s afraid that what she’s feeling is fake, that she made a mistake.”

Zeus’ hand squeezed my shoulder, letting me know he had my back, and he also didn’t believe Flame.

“Flame, knock it the fuck off. I’ve got him now, but if you keep spewing lies, I’m going to let him go, so he can beat the truth out of you.”

Flame’s face clenched at Zeus’s threat. His eyes flicked to the side before giving his attention back to us.

“She’s here,” Hawk said, staring at his phone. “Sorry, Banshee. I don’t know why I didn’t do this before.” He showed me his phone where a red dot indicated where Finley’s phone was located.

“So you’re stalking my sister now?” Flame yelled, but fear was now coating his face.

“I’m stalking what’s mine to ensure she’s safe. Where is she?”

Zeus’ hand fell off my shoulder as he moved to stand next to me. “Flame, if you want to live, you need to go get Finley. Now.”

“I said she’s not here.”

“She’s in her room.” A man’s voice interrupted Flame’s lame excuse. His face was a bruised mess but his glare at Flame couldn’t be misunderstood. “Flame drugged her, and locked her in her room.”

“Shut the fuck up, Stank,” Flame growled as I advanced. Hearing Stank confirm Finley’s presence was all I needed to let my murderous rage free.
