“No, Flame. I told you we’re not going to let you fuck the Outsiders out of getting with the Reaper’s Rebels.” Stank stumbled back when Flame’s fist slammed into his abused face.
I yanked Flame off of Stank sinking my own fist into Flame’s face. Red coated my vision. This mother fucker had not only drugged my woman, but also locked her away from me.
“I’m going to kill you.” I slammed my fist into his stomach, his face, his side, his knee, and everywhere else I could hurt him.
Flame swung wildly, barely grazing my cheekbone. We wrestled each other. Flame’s fists went wild, while mine were true.
“Stop,” I registered Finley’s voice through my red haze. “Stop, Banshee. Please, don’t kill him.” Her voice was reedy, and it fed my fury.
I didn’t want to stop until his blood bathed the ground, I had him pinned against. Hawk had his arm around her keeping her steady. She looked as if she was about to fall to the ground. Jumping off of Flame I ran toward her, scooping her up in my arms, needing to hold her. To make sure she was alive and safe.
“He was trying to protect me. He doesn’t know better,” Finley said her body collapsing into my strength.
I brushed my finger down her face when I noticed the bruise on her cheek. “Did he fucking hit you? Marshal, kill him.”
Marshal, Zeus, Hawk, and Doc walked over to where Flame was attempting to get off the ground. His arm clenched around his middle as if he was trying to hold his insides in.
Good, I hoped he was bleeding internally. I hoped he choked on the blood pouring out of his organs.
“He didn’t hit me. Don’t kill him. I tripped and fell on the stairs. I smacked the side of the wall with my face.” I studied Finley’s bruised face, pushing down the need to take a life for her pain. Her eyes were trying hard to focus with the drugs in her system. And I had to once again begin the whole process of tamping down my fury.
“It’s true. He didn’t hit her,” Stank said.
I glanced up and noticed most of the Outsiders were standing in a circle where we were fighting. The blood of Flame in the middle, none of them moving until they received some type of signal from us or from Flame, I wasn’t sure of.
And I didn’t care. I wanted Flame dead. I wanted Finley avenged, and home. They could fuck off and die for all I cared.
“Please,” Finley said, her hand touching my face with no grace. That one word was like she’d read my mind, and was begging me to stop the thoughts rushing through my head.
Before I could answer her plea, tires screeched down the street. We all froze, none of us registering what was happening. None of us accepting what was happening, not to the Reaper’s, and not in Vegas.
The popping sound didn’t register just like the screeching tires didn’t. When people screamed for all of us to get down, reality finally caught up. Bullets tore through the Outsiders’ property, while everyone hit the ground in anger and fear.
I dropped to the ground, my large body covering Finley’s.
Over the sound of multiple shots, people in the drive by car were screaming, “Reaper’s Rebels rule Vegas, fuck the Outsiders.”
“Fuck,” I cried out when a bullet ripped through the back of my leg. Just as fast as it started, the shooting ended. We all moved to the back of the property, everyone on high alert. Flame ordered people to follow after them, and to make sure they were armed. They poured out of the property in an impressive speed.
“I’m going with them,” Zeus said over the chaos. “Hawk, Marshal, and Doc, come with me. Those fuckers are claiming to be my fucking club, trying to pin a shooting on my goddamn watch. I’m going to torture them before I kill them,” Zeus roared before he sped off on his bike, Hawk, Marshal and Doc right behind him. Vengeance was on all of their postures.
After they disappeared I carried Finley into Flame’s house, hating having her in this place again, but her safety was more important at the moment. I immediately put Finley on the couch and did a once over. My hands shook as I checked her body for any injury. “Hey, Pix. Are you okay?”
She pushed into a sitting position, her hands shook just as much as mine.
“I’m fine. Oh my god, Hulk you’re bleeding.”
I glanced down and realized my jeans were covered in blood, and it was pooling under me on the hardwood floor. Good, I hoped I ruined Flame’s fucking floor.
“Shit, you’re shot.” Flame came out of the kitchen with a bottle of water for Finley. He was unable to look either of us in the eyes.
“Here, drink this, Fin. Come into the kitchen, lover boy.”
I wanted to tell him to go fuck himself, but the hope in Finley’s eyes stopped me. That one look put me on my best behavior. Getting up slowly, I kissed Finley’s lips before following her asshole brother.
I was surprised when Flame had a first aid set up on the kitchen table. I allowed him to clean me up, pull the bullet out of my leg, and stitch me up without a word. The want to kill him still simmered under my skin. He fucking drugged and kept Finley from me, I hated every breath he took.
“Thank you for protecting my sister,” Flame said, as he washed the blood off his hands.
