“No, I don’t want that either of course.” Lachlan reached over and snagged his brother, wrapping an arm and a wing around him. “It’s just been so busy here and I’ve been concentrating on my mate. I don’t want him to feel like he has to worry about anything right now. It’s been so hard for him.”

“Micah looks like he’s really blossoming.” Bryant hugged him back. “I’m proud of you brother.”

“Are you?” Lachlan teased “I thought you were worried about stuff.” He waved his free hand in the air like Bryant had.

“Well I know you’re no virgin, but I’m not sure how much sex you’ve had since your body changed so much. I know Kieran had a really rough time before he came here, and I wasn’t sure how he would feel about being intimate.” Bryant shrugged against him, his expression slightly uncomfortable, which was good because really Lachlan’s “intimate” life was none of his business. But he got it. His brother was actually being really sweet and concerned and not mean at all.

“I think we’ll do pretty well together. We’ll take it slow and not do anything he doesn’t want to do but I’m ready, for sure.”

So am I-iiiii,Kieran sing-songed in his head.

His cheeks went hot and smoke blew from his nose.

Bryant arched an eyebrow and grinned. “It’s like that, is it?”

“It so is. I— I’m all in, brother.”

“Good.” Bryant clapped him on the arm. “That’s the best.”

“It is. I’m—thank you for bringing him to me.”

“I’m just glad he’s where he needs to be.”

Lachlan was too. This was his lover. His mate. The dragon who had his son.

“So, let’s fly soon. Pick a time.”

“How about tomorrow morning?” Bryant said, glancing at Kieran. “After you two have some alone time.”

“That sounds perfect. Will we go have breakfast at the coffee shop?” He felt comfortable enough, especially if they went at a non-busy time, to stop by the coffee shop in the bookstore, and then he could bring something home for Kieran and Micah.

Oh, a book for Micah would be fun

“That sounds amazing. I’ll pop over in the morning.”

“Cool.” He bumped Bryant’s shoulder. “Next time, if you’re worried, you don’t have to wait. You can just tell me.”

Bryant nodded, gaze knowing. “It’s amazing, isn’t it? We’ve created new families.”

Lachlan nodded, because it was true on so many levels.

He had a mate, he had a son, he had his brother and Lars and little Kaden, but then beyond that he had both sets of twins and Grant and Gwyn, Bea’s little boy, the wing.

His world had exploded exponentially.

And there was Alban, who he’d honestly never believed for a second he would have in his home, making his life easier.

“I’m a lucky dragon.”

“You are.” Bryant glanced over at Lars, his expression softening. “So am I.”

“You so are, brother. You are owned in the most deep personal way.” Lachlan winked at Bryant, who didn’t even bother to argue.

His brother just nodded. “I think it’s about time for me to take everybody home. Kaden needs his supper and then bedtime.”

Oh, he was so ready for everyone to go home so he could love on his mate. “He was great today.”

“He loves Micah. He’s his very best buddy. You should see him light up when we say we’re coming over to visit.”
