“I have faith that soon we’ll be coming over to visit you as well.”
“Little steps, right?” Bryant understood, and he loved that about his brother. They all had their things that required little steps instead of great leaps. And he had more than most.
But Bryant loved him fiercely no matter what.
“So. I will gather up my mate and kid and get everyone moving out, okay?”
“I appreciate you, Bryant. I love having everybody over but I’m ready to be with my mate.” He squeezed Bryant one moretime, giving him a good hard hug. Then he kind of gave him a little push. “Off you go.”
Bryant laughed and swept off to murmur something to Lars before the two of them were picking up children and casserole dishes and shooing dragons toward the door. It took maybe a half an hour, but soon enough the silence rang out in the house. Sure it was weird to have it so suddenly empty but, at the same time, now he could focus on Kieran.
“Should we see if Michah will go down for a little nap, love?” he asked.
“Oh I think he’s totally ready.” Kieran’s soft expression and hot gaze made his body harden.
“Well then.” Lachlan spread his wings a little and ruffled them. “Let’s do that then.”
Kieran laughed, but he dutifully picked Micah up, and they started toward the upstairs. Even if nothing more came of it than some snuggling and talking for them in bed, it would be worth it.
Lachlan felt like it was time to be intimate, and he was ready. He had a feeling Kieran was as well.
Chapter

Kieran got Micah down without a fuss, then slipped out of his son’s little bedroom, going down to a sitting room Lachlan had arranged for him.
The room was small and Lachlan was huge and he took up a great deal of space there, but still it seemed perfect. This was his part of the house, so he felt comfortable here already and, eventually, he knew he would move to Lachlan’s bedroom, but right now he needed the confidence of being here.
He wiped his hands on his pants, trying to make sure he wasn’t sweaty, and then held out a hand to Lachlan. “Would you like to go to the bedroom?”
“I would be honored, mate.” Lachlan took his hand, and it was warm, large, the touch buzzing through him.
He felt his cheeks flush, and he tugged Lachlan along to his little aerie of a room. The bed took up most of the space, because Lachlan had insisted he have a luxurious, huge, and comfortable place.
No one had ever been as good to him as Lachlan was, no one ever made him feel so strong, so amazing. And he was feeling warm inside and out, his body telling him it was readying for his mate.
Lachlan turned him so they were facing each other, lifting his face with one hand before leaning close. “Is this all right?”
“It is. Please. I want you.”
“Good. But you tell me if anything gets to be too much. You’ll let me know if I need to stop.” Lachlan brought that hand up to touch his cheek, fingers sliding behind his ear.
“I will.” He wasn’t scared of Lachlan. Lachlan was good to him, cared for him, wanted his heart as well as his body.
His platinum dragon was no danger to him.
Lachlan tilted his head up a bit more, then bent to kiss him, lips meeting his, tongue tracing the seam of them, asking to be let in.
He wasn’t a virgin, and he opened up easily, shocked at the jolt of pure lightning that hit his spine, settling in his balls. His arms came up without his express permission, wrapping around Lachlan’s neck, anchoring him.
He wanted Lachlan to feel how hungry he was, how much he needed.
Lachlan kissed him as if he was a starving man, hands sliding down his back to grab his ass and pull him up against that solid body. Those great wings flared out, then wrapped around him, and it was another kind of embrace, one that made him feel safe and protected even as his body heated and readied itself for his mate.
Kieran could feel how wet he was getting and he would be embarrassed but why? This was exactly what he was supposed to be doing. He was supposed to be opening up and getting wet so Lachlan could take him.
Honestly, he wasn’t squeamish about sex at all. It wasn’t as if he had been abused. He had just been abandoned.
