“We’re hoping to find somebody who can use it rather than rip it out,” Flynn said, a nervous tone to his voice even as I took several steps deeper inside.

It was perfect. Familiar controls graced the wall closest to the door. A warning sign at the far end told me that it had a gas-based fire suppression system.

There were some racks on tracks, but other than that… it was a ready-made server room.

“I don’t know…” Connie started.

“I do know,” I interrupted. “This is absolutely something I’d be interested in keeping.”

“Really?” Flynn asked.

I nodded as I turned to him, then I strode to the control panel and opened it up. “Stasis mode. Do you know what it was set at before?”

“I don’t know the specifics. We stored high-value art in here.”

I examined the controls, then nodded. “I won’t mess with it, but do you have the specs?”

“Oh… umm…” his scent as he came closer again, and I had to force myself not to moan with how good he smelled. He snagged a piece of paper from a desk and handed it over.

I blinked as I read it. Everything was top of the line. I might have to make a couple of minor changes, but nothing that would even require a permit.

The building had a server room that was practically ready to move into.

I set the paper back onto the desk, then my eyes fell to something else—a panel labeled ‘fiber’.

My breathing quickened, something that wasn’t exactly ideal with my unclaimed omega only a few feet away. I fought back an erection, then pointed to the panel. “May I?”

“Sure.”

I opened it and could have cried with joy. It was a direct fiber line, and it was still working.

I’d been ordered to jump on a unicorn if I found one, and this building was it. I almost didn’t need to see the rest. Just the room and the fiber saved me several hundred thousand dollars of work.

But if what I’d seen was any indication, the building was damn near perfect.

And I almost couldn’t appreciate it with how desperate I was to take my omega to bed.

Chapter 10 - Flynn

My alpha's eyes seemed to light up a bit more with everything I showed him.

His elation had almost been overwhelming in the vault, despite the climate controls working hard to keep a neutral environment.

“What else is down this hall?” Connie asked as we left the vault.

“Nothing much,” I replied with a shrug, “just a secure loading bay.”

“Secure?” Dylan asked.

I nodded and smiled at him when our eyes met. “It’s made for armored trucks. The doors can’t be open at the same time as a means to try to prevent thieves from taking advantage of shipping.”

“Ah.”

“Shall we head upstairs?” I asked.

He smiled. “Sure.”

I led the way out of the hall and could practically feel my alpha’s eyes on my ass. I liked it… and had to force myself not to give him an extra wiggle.
