Black Site Theta vanished.

Sarah gripped the edge of her seat.

Wade watched without blinking.

No one spoke.

The place that had held him for five years was gone.

But Wade wasn’t beneath it.

Neither were his men.

Madow was the one in chains.

That wasn’t how the story was supposed to end.

Wade finally looked across the helicopter at Reeves.

The former commander refused to meet his eyes.

“You told us no one was looking,” Wade said.

Reeves remained silent.

“You said our families had accepted we were dead.”

Nothing.

“You said Sarah got married and moved away.”

Sarah’s eyes filled with tears.

Wade’s jaw tightened.

“You said my father stopped searching.”

Jack Parker leaned forward.

“I never stopped.”

Wade looked at him.

“I know.”

Reeves stared at the floor.

Wade turned toward Sarah.

“They knew exactly what to say. Exactly where to hurt us.”

Sarah looked at Reeves.

“Because he knew our family.”

“Yes.”

Madow watched the exchange.
