Advanced targeting hardware.

Weapons listed as agricultural machinery.

Rook felt anger stir beneath his ribs.

Cold.

Controlled.

Useful.

Fathom brought up a series of bank transfers.

Money had moved from the shipping corporation into shell companies. From the shell companies into foreign accounts. From those accounts into investment funds connected to powerful people.

“Vance?” Rook asked.

“Two accounts might connect to him.”

“Might?”

“I don’t guess.”

Sniper looked at him. “You do it constantly.”

“I form highly informed theories.”

“You guess with confidence.”

Fathom ignored him.

The general had ended the search.

He had signed the false report.

Rook had already lost six men because someone had manipulated intelligence. He wasn’t going to build their investigation on assumptions.

“What about Mac Stenson?”

Fathom opened his file.

“Career intelligence officer. Thirty-two years of service. Clean record. No unexplained income. No suspicious travel. No known connection to the shipping companies.”

“Then why is he on the list?”
