“Yes, but I wear suits when I’m working.”

“Which is all the time?”

I took her hand over the console, enjoying the feeling of the simple, affectionate gesture. “I’m taking today off, so you’ll be seeing plenty of me without a suit.” It wasn’t just the sex I anticipated, it was also the fact I’d get to take my time with her, knowing she wouldn’t be in a hurry to leave.

Once we pulled up in the driveway in Malibu, I took her hand again, leading her into the house and straight to my bedroom. I didn’t breathe a sigh of relief until I’d locked my double doors, evidently needing the confirmation I had her all to myself.

“You’re beautiful. With or without makeup.”

Her lips parted, and she was about to respond when I cut her off with a finger to her mouth. “No. You don’t get to deflect this one. I missed you during the last few days, and when I saw you, I was so enamored I took out my phone and snapped a picture because I simply couldn’t help myself.”

“I was going to say thank you.”

I shook my head, knowing better. “Liar.”

Her grin was contagious.

My lips dropped to her neck, and I enjoyed the way she shivered under my touch. I couldn’t help asking, “Did you miss me, Tory?”

She immediately tensed. “I figured you were enjoying a different woman every night in Europe.”

I pulled back, my gaze consuming her. “There’s been no one else since the day I met you.”

“Why?”

I could hardly explain it, so I settled for the only truth I knew. “Because you and your honey soap are all I can think about.”

“You didn’t go and buy seven bars to give to other women, did you?”

My laughter erupted. “Jesus. No. But I will put them in my shower. Maybe then you’ll stay once in a while and not sprint out of here after we have sex. Obviously, I understand you need to return to Penelope. She’s always your first priority and should be. But I don’t think she’s the reason you don’t stay.”

She opened her mouth and then closed it, appearing to have trouble finding the right words. “I figured it would be what you preferred.”

“Well, it’s not.”

The words seemed to sink in because a smile finally curved her lips. “You’re still in your suit.”

“Easily remedied.”
