“Thanks, Maria. We’re headed upstairs for a shower, and we’ll check to see if it’s anything important then,” Gregory said.

With the towels wrapped around them, they headed up the stairs.

Sascha sighed. “I bet everyone’s calling us about the wedding plans.”

Gregory chuckled. That’s a good thing. He knew Sascha wasn’t happy about it, but he hoped it would come to fruition and that she would be ecstatic.

“Of course it’s not a good thing,” she said. “What if we can’t be together? My family would be fine with it because they would know it wasn’t meant to be. But your family would be terribly disappointed.”

“You read my mind. Man, am I going to have to watch what I’m thinking around you.”

“Nope, that’s okay. I like to know what you’re thinking.”

“Yeah, but I don’t always know what you’re thinking.”

“That’s because I hide my thoughts when I want to, or I’m not thinking about anything that catches your attention.”

“Hmm.” Gregory realized there was a lot more to all this business than he was ready for.

“Yep.” She went into the bathroom, set her towel on the floor, and turned on the shower water.

Before she could remove her bathing suit, he was pulling her straps down, kissing her mouth, her neck, shoulders, breasts. She was tantalizing.

“You too.” She reached down to pull off his swim trunks and brushed against his erection. “And way too enticing.”

He didn’t think he would ever get used to her reading his mind.

They finished stripping off their swimsuits and stepped into the shower. Forgetting all about the soap, they kissed and ran their hands over each other, enjoying the tactile experience as their phones rang, and they ignored them.

It was easy too. He often couldn’t keep himself from answering a call, but with Sascha rubbing her silky body against him, making him hot and eager to go further with her, the phone meant nothing to him.

“Good,” she said.

He laughed and grabbed the soap. Running his hands all over her wet body was a delight, but covering her with soap and getting to all the intimate parts—that was even better.

She seemed to be of the same mind and started soaping him up, nearly making him come the way she was stroking him, and then he figured this was the way to do it. At least for the time being. She was stroking him, and he began stroking her until they were both coming.

“Ohmigod,” she cried out.

He groaned with release and held her tight, just allowing the water to run over them. He sighed deeply. She kissed him gratefully. “We did it, and I didn’t lose my powers.”

“How do you know?”

“Kat just telepathically communicated to me, asking me where the hell I was.” Sascha smiled. “I wasn’t answering my phone, and she was worried.”

Then they finished rinsing off and dried off with a towel. They hung up their damp towels, put their bathing suits on the edge of the bathtub, and went to bed.

They grabbed their phones and slid into bed, covering themselves and cuddling. Sascha called Kat, while Gregory called Prescott.

“Yeah, we’re okay,” Gregory said to Prescott. “We were swimming in the pool and had left our phones in the bedroom.”

“Your bedroom.”

“Yeah.”

“Did Sascha tell you about her abilities, and do you believe her?” Prescott asked.

“Yeah. We’re linked.”
