“A day party?” I repeated, folding my arms. “Y’all see me, right?”
Denise rolled her eyes and walked past me like she lived there. “Exactly, that’s why we here. Go put somethin’ on so we can be outside.”
I sucked my teeth but didn’t even argue. This is exactly what I needed.
“Iight,” I said playfully; they already knew I was gonna be down.
“Give me a few.”
I walked into my room, looked through my closet, and pulled out something simple that fit my body right.
An hour later, I was out of the shower and took shots with them while Raven did my hair, and Ari did my makeup.
“Have you talked to Pitbull?” Denie asked.
“She had to; look at all the shit around here,” Ari added.
I laughed. “I haven’t, actually. He texted me he missed me, and I didn’t respond.”
Raven laughed. “How long are you gonna make him sweat?”
I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know, probably a lil’ bit longer. I'm getting bored and need some dick.”
They laughed as if I was playing, but that was neva the case.
Once my girls were done getting me right, we took one more shot and walked outta my place and hopped in Raven's car.
On the drive there, Denise threw some weed and a leaf at me.
“Roll one up,” she said playfully.
As I ground up the weed, Ari opened the leaf for me just as I looked out the window and saw the sign.
“Man, oh hell no!” I shouted, making the whole car look at me.
“What?” Denise yelled.
“What is it?” Raven shouted, while looking through the rearview mirror.
“BROOKYLN!” I yelled. “We are goin’ to Brooklyn?”
They laughed.
“That’s where the party is,” Ari said, passing the leaf back to me.
I shook my head. “I should have stayed home. Rosama is goin’ to be there.”
They all sucked their teeth at what sounded like the same time.
“Girl, how the hell you know he is going to be there?” Denise asked.
“Because it is in Brooklyn. That nigga has his hands on anything and everything that has to do with Brooklyn.”
“Don’t think like that,” Raven said.
“And if he is, oh well,” Ari added.
I exhaled. “Yeah…y’all are right.”
