A smell he had known for more years than he could count. And another scent underneath it, strangely familiar in a different way.

The smell unmistakably belonged to Ivanoxa.

Then a scream.

"Where is it?"

The voice was not Nox’s. Teorin stepped closer, unconcerned. Whatever this was it did not involve Asharin and therefore it did not involve him.

Dirt flew in his face as a body landed in front of him.

Ivanoxa. She immediately stood up, power flowing out of her.

He squinted past her.

Teal.

Dali. Vaelor's sister. Had she not been a guest in Darkway Palace? What was she doing out here?

"The Vaultline was empty," Dali said, her voice shaking with rage.

Ivanoxa laughed.

A mistake, given the amount of power this teal monster seemed to hold, Teorin thought to himself.

“Where. Is. The. Fucking. Amulet?" Dali screamed.

The power that rushed over the area was vast. More vast than he had experienced in some time. Familiar too, in a way he could not immediately place.

It almost knocked him over, and just as he stood straight and prepared to walk through it, more fighting resumed.

Fuck.

In truth, Ivanoxa was not to be trifled with and whatever Vaelor's sister was, neither was she. The power that clashed through the air was almost overwhelming. Certainly too heavy to walk through.

An old man somehow stupidly attempted to walk in between the two women, clearly unaware of the fight that was taking place. He had a cane, his back hunched. They were just outside of Morrath now and this man was likely a dock worker who had wandered too close to something he did not understand.

"I will kill you," one of them screamed.

Teorin looked between the two of them and then at the old man who had just toppled over. He offered him his arm. The man grabbed it gratefully and looked up at him.

"Thank you, lad."

Teorin put his arm around him and smiled as warmly as he was capable of. "Of course."

He leaned in and began to feed.

The man was old and kind and harmless, but Teorin could not risk being hungry. Not with a teal-headed monster and his former lover both standing in his way.

As if on cue Vaelor's sister spoke. "King Teorin," she said, her voice calm and sweet. "Have you by any chance seen what you know I have been looking for?"

"I have not," he said calmly. "The only thing on my mind is leaving this shithole in one piece, if you will excuse me."

A song began to hum in his head. It felt familiar and he did not want it there.

"Get the fuck out of my head," he said, his eyes flashing.

Nox stepped in front of him.
