We climbed out and made our way toward the walking path near the water. Alexia stood near one of the benches, looking down at her phone.
The second she looked up and saw Drayla walking beside me, her whole face changed.
“I thought you said you wanted to talk to me.”
“I do.”
“So why the fuck is she here?”
Drayla sucked her teeth. “Bitch, don’t worry about why the fuck I’m here.”
“Dray.”
“What?” She looked at me innocently. “I’m quiet.”
I cut my eyes at her before turning back to Alexia.
“She came with me. You got a problem with that?”
Alexia looked between us before shrugging. “I don’t give a fuck.”
“Good. Then we ain’t got a problem.”
For a few seconds, neither of us said anything. I just stared at her.
The longer I looked at this bitch, the harder it became to understand how somebody I once considered my best friend could’ve been doing all this grimy shit behind my back.
Alexia shifted her weight. “So, what the hell did you want to talk about?”
“Amani.”
Her face barely moved. But I caught that shit. That quick flicker in her eyes told me everything I needed to know.
“What about him?”
“You tell me.”
She frowned. “Girl, I don’t know what the hell you talking about.”
“See…” A laugh slipped from my mouth as I slowly shook my head. “Don’t do that shit.”
“Do what?”
“Play dumb with me.”
“Ain’t nobody playing dumb.”
“Okay.” I folded my arms. “Did you send those pictures of Amani and me to those blogs?”
Alexia stared at me, and I waited.
“Well?”
“Why you asking me?”
“Because I wanna hear your ass say it.”
Her lips curled into a small smirk.
