“And if I did?”
My jaw tightened, and Drayla moved slightly closer to me, but I kept my eyes on Alexia.
“If?”
“Yeah. If.”
“Bitch, Amani already told me.”
That smirk disappeared.
“He told you what?”
“Everything.”
Her eyes narrowed. “What the fuck does everything mean?”
“Oh, now you wanna know?”
“Sianni—”
“Nawl.” I held my hand up. “You wanted to play stupid two seconds ago. Keep playing.”
“I’m not playing shit.”
“Then answer my question. Did you send the fucking pictures?”
Alexia looked away for a second before sucking her teeth.
“Yeah.”
Hearing it come directly from her mouth did something completely different to me.
My fingers curled against my arms.
“Why?”
“Why the fuck you think?”
“I’m asking you.”
“Because I felt like it.”
I laughed, not because anything was funny, but because if I didn’t, I was liable to forget every damn thing Drayla told me in that car.
“You felt like it?”
“Yeah.”
“So, you got old pictures of Amani and me and sent them to blogs, knowing exactly what the fuck people were gonna make it look like?”
“I ain’t tell them people what to think.”
“Alexia, stop fucking playing with me.”
My voice carried louder than I intended, causing a couple walking farther down the path to glance in our direction, but I didn’t give a damn.
“You knew exactly what you were doing.”
