I stepped closer.
“Because let’s stop dancing around that shit. Whatever some nigga said to me, whoever looked at me, whoever wanted me, that shit ain’t have nothing to do with what you did.”
Alexia rolled her eyes.
“You made a choice to fuck Amani behind my back.”
“He came to me.”
“And?”
She blinked.
I laughed. “Bitch, did you think that was supposed to hurt my feelings?”
“You asked.”
“Nawl, I asked why you did it. I already know Amani ain’t shit. That's why his ass ain't my man anymore. I’m asking about you.”
Her jaw tightened.
“You were supposed to be my best friend.”
“I was.”
“No, the fuck you wasn’t.”
She sucked her teeth.
“A best friend wouldn’t have been fucking my nigga and then sitting in my fucking face afterward. A best friend damn sure wouldn’t wait years later, get pictures from that same nigga, and send them to some blogs, hoping it would fuck up my marriage.”
“I told you—”
“And now you staying with Marissa?” I laughed, shaking my head. “Another bitch with some weird-ass issue with me because of a nigga?”
“Marissa got her own reasons for not liking you.”
“I don’t give a fuck about Marissa’s reasons!”
Drayla touched my arm.
“Sianni.”
“I’m good.”
I wasn’t, though. My heart was beating so damn hard I could feel it in my chest, but I wasn't about to let Alexia take me there.
Not yet. I looked back at her.
“You hated me all this time over some shit I couldn’t even control.”
“Hated you?” She laughed. “Girl, don’t flatter yourself.”
“What else would you call this shit?”
Alexia didn’t answer.
“Because I damn sure wouldn’t go through all this trouble for somebody I didn’t give a fuck about.”
