“He wants us to do an interview.”

Her brows lifted.

“An interview?”

“Yeah. He thinks it’ll be good for us with all this bullshit going around. Give us a chance to control the narrative instead of letting these blogs keep making shit up about our marriage.”

Sianni was quiet for a second.

“You think it’ll work?”

“I mean…” I rubbed my hand across my beard. “Part of me do. Then another part of me don’t give a fuck what none of these people think. We know our marriage is real. That’s all that should matter.”

“True.”

“But my agent got a point too. Everybody else is running around, telling our fucking story for us.” I paused. “I just ain’t agreeing to shit involving you without talking to you first.”

Her expression softened.

“Well, I’m okay with it.”

“You sure?”

“Yeah.” She nodded. “If you think it might help shut some of this stuff down, we can try it.”

“Aight, bae. I’ll let him know you down.”

“Okay, bae.”

I stared at her for another second, not really wanting to end the call, though I was the one who called her ass, even for a reason.

“Aight, I love you.”

The words left my mouth so damn naturally that it took a second for me to realize what the fuck I’d just said.

Sianni froze. Shit, I did too. Her eyes widened slightly as she stared at me through the screen.

“Really?” she asked softly.

I narrowed my eyes when I saw hers starting to get glossy.

“Yeah, really.” I leaned closer to the screen. “Hold the fuck up. Sianni, is your ass about to cry?”

“No.” She shook her head quickly, poking her bottom lip back in like that was supposed to convince me.

“Uh-huh.” I laughed. “You finna cry.”

“I am not.”

“Yeah, aight.”

“Kyrie!” she whined, wiping underneath one of her eyes.

That only made me laugh harder.

“Look at your little emotional ass.”

“Shut up.”
