Tweety pinned Cash with a hard look and crossed his arms. “You didn’t tell her?”
“Tell me what?”
“I’m coming to Vegas,” Cash said flatly, not even a hint of the sweet man who kissed me showing on his face.
“Like hell you are,” I snapped sternly.
“Owen invited me.” He shrugged and started pouring a cup of coffee, like the man didn’t just blow up my entire peaceful week.
This was the worst thing that could happen. Not only was my carefree vacation now going up in flames, but the man had kissed me last night and now I had to sit back and watch him gallivant around a bachelor party.
Fuck that.
I stood and stormed out of the room and through the front door for some much needed fresh air. It felt like someone was sitting on my lungs and I was just letting it happen. I pulled up my sister’s contact and sent a very strongly worded text to the bride-to-be.
Leaning onto the porch railing, I took a deep breath.
This was happening and there was no way I could stop it, but I could set ground rules.
As much as I loved that kiss last night, I now held power over Cash. We shared a secret and if I had to, I would use it to my advantage.

VEGAS BABY
CASH
Paige was more upset than I thought she would be by the news that I was now joining this Vegas vacation. I was reckless last night—kissing her and walking away—but I couldn’t stand the idea of her being mad at me. When I heard her bedroom door open, I was out of bed and heading out to the hallway before my brain could catch up to my heart.
I lingered in the dark hallway until she walked out of the bathroom. She drove me mad with the way she whimpered as soon as her lips were on mine. I wanted to bottle the sounds she made so I could listen to them whenever I missed her.
I’m so fucked.
How was I now supposed to get through this week knowing exactly how she felt in my hands? Even the sight of her made my cock stiff.
Tweety drove us the two hours to the airport in silence and we got through security fairly quickly. Once we were in our seats on the plane, I decided it was time for Paige to stop ignoring me. She had nowhere to run.
I turned to face her, but she was looking out the window.
“Come on, P. We can get along for a few days with the family. It’ll be fun.”
“If you let me have fun,” she mumbled, still looking out the window.
“Why wouldn’t I let you have fun?”
She turned to me with a furrow in her brow.
“You tell me, Cash. For some reason you have this stick up your ass that I’m a little girl who can’t handle herself.”
“I don’t think you can’t handle yourself.”
“Then what is it?”
“None of them are good enough,” I whispered under my breath, revealing a truth that I’d never spoken out loud.
“That’s not your decision to make. There will be none of this protector shit when we land in Vegas. I will have actual brothers there, so you’re off the hook for the next week. If you can’t deal with that, then I’ll tell them exactly how much fun I had last night.”
Her threat hung in the air as I took a deep breath. Paige was right—as much as that hurt to admit. If she was in trouble, then Axle or Reid could step in, and I should just keep my distance. I also couldn’t risk her telling them about our kiss. I nodded and sat back in my seat.
