I… The sentence sat there, waiting to be completed and sent. I might be up for that.
There was a flurry of dots as everyone started replying, but Ethan got in first.
Looking forward to giving it a try.
I had a dirty little secret.
That’s the way it felt as I walked into work. As I stepped into the elevator, my mind raced, coming up with scenario after scenario, until I was forced to glance around at all the other people in the same smart business clothes I was wearing and remember where I was.
Work was not the place to be thinking about having unspecified hot monkey sex with the pack, so I looked down at my phone, intending to look over my calendar and see if we had yet another superfluous morning meeting ahead. It wasn’t Outlook I opened, though, because on my screen was a couple of message notifications. The guys had continued the conversation as I drove to work. Smiling, I scanned the screen and that lack of attention meant I didn’t see Helena march up.
“Hey, you.” She appeared beside me, matching her stride to mine. “Feeling a little sore after your… massage session yesterday?” Her elbow poked into my ribs. “Did they stretch you? Work out all your knots?”
“I didn’t end up going.”
“What?” Her face fell, but she recovered quickly. “Hey, look, it’s OK.” Her fingers found my shoulders as she gave me the world’s worst massage. “You might be down now, champ, but you can get right back in there and try again.”
“Am I fucking or fighting people in this scenario?” I asked, shoving my phone into my pocket.
“Fucking, obviously. So did you reschedule or—?”
“No.” There was no way I could stifle this grin. “Instead I went home with three hot alphas and had sex all afternoon.”
“What?!” As her voice rang out through the office foyer, people turned around. “What?” she asked in a much quieter voice. “The same alphas or a whole other bunch? Are you alpha bait now, like those omegas that go into heat in your dirty books?”
“The same alphas,” I replied much more quietly as we walked towards the office door. “And they were way, way better than any sex therapist.”
“So you’re gonna see them again, right? Right? C’mon, Nadia, you—”
“I’m seeing them again,” I said, pulling back my office chair before putting my bag in my filing cabinet.
“Ladies.” Our boss came to stand beside my cubicle. “Are you joining us for the morning meeting?”
I smiled to myself as I rose to follow him, because sitting through another interminably boring meeting that could’ve been an email was made that much easier as I zoned out, focussing on what would happen tonight.
Chapter 11
Ethan
“We’re going to a sex shop,” I announced as I put my phone down.
“What?” Tex asked.
“We should talk to Nadia, find out what she might actually like,” Grey growled.
“So you can disappear once we’ve done just that?” I’d looked around the house once we escorted Nadia to her car and saw his running gear was missing again. “Nah, you don’t get it, Grey. This is what she wants. Those dickheads she was with…” Tex cut me off with a growl. “They didn’t give a shit about what she might like. Probably were just using her like some sex doll to act out the crap they saw in porn.” I shook my head. “Not us. We go to a sex shop, find stuff she might actually enjoy…”
So an hour or so later, we stood in the way too brightly lit aisle of a high-end sex shop considering the multitude of options.
“OK, smart arse,” Grey said. “Now what?”
This was my idea, so I had to work out what to do. That fact had me grabbing a basket.
“Vibes,” I said, stepping forward to stare at all the different plastic covered phalluses on the wall. “All women like them, don’t they? They’re designed purely to stimulate a woman’s clit or her G-spot, so Nadia would have to like that.”
I pulled a small bullet looking thing off the wall and dropped it into the basket, then something else that looked like a wiggly worm. The vibes that were brightly coloured and looked a little like a piece of modern art were more appealing than the bright pink or deep brown fake dicks.
“These ones have a tickly thing and this has pearls that rotate?” I looked at the others. “Why would someone want that?”
