Warmth spreads throughout my chest. “I love you, too, Kayden.” Words have never been so easy to say. “Every side of you. The good, the bad, and the in between.”

“The bad?” He lifts an eyebrow. “And what would that be, baby? You’re the one with the fucked up fantasies.”

I scoff. “Don’t pretend you don’t enjoy making each one of them come true.”

“Oh, I’m not pretending. I fucking love it. And we have a long list. Nothing is off limits. If you want the moon, just say the word, and I’ll bring it down for you and fuck you on it.”

I purse my lips. “Tempting. Do you think you could do that?”

He cackles. “For you? In a heartbeat.”

“I’m so lucky to have you.”

“You always had me, Madelyn. You had me from the first hello, and that first hesitant hand stretched my way. I was just an idiot who didn’t know how to react to someone so warm, so caring—so beautiful. I’m lucky to have you.”

He pins me against the wall and presses his lips to mine, and I let myself get lost in the waterfall of the shower, allowing my heart to expand and, for once, finally feel—no fear attached.

“Mine.”

I’m his. Forever.

“Ours,” he rasps between kisses.

I caress his face and giggle. “Yours.”

Rights and wrongs, split personalities, trauma, misunderstandings, our love surpasses it all.

Mine. God, I love the sound of that word.

EPILOGUE

MADELYN - SIX MONTHS LATER

My hands are a bit shaky as I tighten the tie around his collar.

I try to compose myself and brush it off. Deep breaths.

This wasn’t the plan. It wasn’t in my cards, and I need to tell Kayden. I don’t know how, and now’s probably not the best time, so I swallow and let go of the tie.

“There you go.”

“How do I look?” Kayden smiles. His usual laidback, side-parted, tousled hairstyle is now combed backward and fixed with gel. He’s wearing a black suit that accentuates his wide shoulders.

“Like the most handsome man I’ve ever seen.”

His smirk deepens. “Good girl.”

God, he loves it when I stroke his ego.

Kayden’s love language is words of affirmation, and that’s something I’ve gotten to know in the past six months since we’ve officially been together.

Which I don’t mind. If all I need to do is tell my man how good-looking he is and worship his body, then I’ll do it happily. He’s suffered enough for me to deny him anything. And he’s made sure to cross out almost every single one of the fantasies in my diary.

It’s been a delicious journey. I can’t complain.

Blush rises to my cheeks as I think of all the things we’ve done. How the secret I’ve been keeping from him will completely change our worlds, even more than the changes we’ve experienced these past few months. The change we’re accepting today.

The touch startles me, Kayden’s hand on my butt, smacking it, and I gasp, almost losing my balance.
