"That serious, huh?" he asked as he chuckled at me. Shaking his head at me, he leaned against the doorway. "You've got to do better than that if you want to get out of a date with someone like Amanda. What exactly is the problem?" Realizing that he was the best person to talk to, especially since Sarah hadn't been a Little whenever they met, I took a deep breath.

"I haven't been able to talk to Amanda to see if she's a Little or not yet," I explained. Immediately, Adam's smile disappeared, and he nodded as he opened the door further.

"Come on in," he said as he held the door open for me. "Sarah is still at the bookstore with Amanda, so we can talk here." Grateful for the chance to discuss the situation with someone who already knew what to do, I nodded and accepted his invitation as I entered his home.

Once inside, Adam sat me down, and I explained everything to him from how I had asked Amanda out the week before all the way to how I had struggled to have the conversation with her. It took several minutes to explain everything to him, and Adam was completely quiet the entire time I spilled my guts out to him. When I was finally done, he sat quietly for a moment, as if considering everything I had told him.

"Sounds like you have a decision to make," he told me, his voice calm yet stern. "Tell me... Are you a Daddy?" Confused by his question, I stared at him for a moment before responding.

"Yes," I answered reluctantly. Immediately, Adam shook his head.

"Are you a Daddy?" he asked, and I nodded in response.

"Yes," I repeated, raising my voice a little so he could hear me. "Yes, I am a Daddy." Seeming satisfied by this answer, Adam nodded in agreement.

"That's better," he said as he leaned back in his seat. "That's your problem. If you're going to be a Daddy, you need to be a lot more confident and dominating than you already are. Otherwise, you'll have the Little walking all over you. You have to show them who's boss, or else it's not going to work out regardless of whether or not she is a Little or not." Realizing he was right, I lowered my gaze and thought for a moment.

All my life, I had been timid and eager to please, and it had worked out horribly for me all this time. Even before I joined the Barbarians, I realized that people seem to take advantage of me, and there wasn't ever a single thing I could do about it. At least that's how it felt. Now that he had pointed it out, I felt the anger rising in my chest as my inner Daddy finally started to rear his head, demanding to be heard.

"You're right," I agreed. "No more walking on eggshells or trying not to cause trouble. If trouble comes for me, I've got to meet it head on rather than hiding with my tail tucked between my legs." Adam chuckled as he nodded in response.

"There you go," he agreed as he smiled proudly at me. "Grow a pair of balls and let them hang. Show everyone who you truly are, starting with Amanda." Remembering Amanda, I rubbed the back of my neck.

"It's still not going to be easy," I reminded him. "How did you have the conversation with Sarah?" Much to my surprise, Adam shrugged.

"Never really had to," he admitted. "She was a bit of a Little before I even got to her. It was just a matter of convincing her to give in to her wants rather than her needs and let me take care of the rest rather than having the actual conversation." Realizing that wasn't going to help me, I took a deep breath.

"Well I guess the best thing I can do is be as honest as possible with her," I finally decided out loud. "If she doesn't like it, then she was never meant for me." Adam chuckled as he patted me on the shoulder.

"That's the spirit," he agreed with a gentle smile. "If things don't work out with her, at least there's plenty of other women on the compound for you. Most of whom are already Little material."

CHAPTER SEVEN

Amanda

The first week on the compound was still a bit strange for me, but spending it with Scott made it much easier. I quickly learned the rules of the compound and was able to adjust to my new life. I even made several friends throughout the compound with the other women and finally realized what was so different about them.

They were what they called Littles, and most of the men on the compound were what they called Daddies. They explained everything from their childlike behavior all the way to what was expected of a Little as far as their behavior went. At first, I thought it was a bit strange, but, as I spent time with the women and got to know everyone much better, I had to admit that it sounded tempting.

Throughout the week, when I was around the women, I found myself adopting their behavior patterns and acting more like them by the day. However, when I was around Scott, I found it hard to apply the same behavior. For all I knew, with him being new to the compound as well, he wasn't a Daddy, and I didn't want him getting the wrong idea all because I started acting like the other women. The last thing I wanted to do was scare him off before I was able to determine whether or not he was a Daddy and if he did truly have feelings for me.

No matter how hard I tried, it felt impossible to bring up the conversation when around him. He seemed to enjoy the fact that I was different from the other women, and I felt as though I would disappoint him as soon as he found out that I was adopting their behavior. I wanted to ask him and be sure, but, as time went on, it became harder and harder to discuss things with him. By the time Friday night came, I was a nervous wreck and was contemplating not going anywhere especially with him.

After voicing my concerns to Megan and the other women, they reassured me that there was nothing wrong with testing my luck with Scott. According to Kiera, who also worked at the bookstore, I had already attracted the attention of many other men on the compound, including Bradley, the man who had been a jerk to me my first night here. They kept reassuring me that, if Scott turned out to not be the one for me, there were plenty of other people who would be more than willing to be my Daddy.

As reassuring as it was, I actually didn’t feel any better about my situation with Scott. I preferred Scott out of all the men, and I didn’t know what I was going to do if he turned me down. So, as we drove back to the compound from the bookstore, eager to get back in time for dinner and movie night. Once we arrived, I headed straight to my room, ready to finally take the risk and bring it up on our way to the movie.

When I finally got back to my room, I hurried to prepare myself for the date with Scott. Even though he hadn’t said it was an official date, it was heavily implied, especially after all the time we had spent together over the last week. After showering, I dressed in the nicest sweater and jeans I had and hurried to brush my hair. By the time I was pulling on my boots, I heard the knock on my door.

“Amanada?” called out Scott from the other side of the door. “Amanda, are you there?” Trying not to fall face first into the floor, I hurried over to the door, concerned by how urgent he sounded as he spoke.

As soon as I opened the door, Scott brushed right past me, and I felt as though something was seriously wrong. He looked as though he was on the verge of losing his temper or falling apart thanks to a nervous breakdown. After looking around the room, he turned to face me, and I winced when I saw the look of urgency on his face.

“I need to talk to you,” he blurted out as he held his head high as though he was mustering his courage as he spoke. “It’s rather important, and, before we go out, I need to have this conversation with you.” Completely caught off guard, I took a deep breath and forced a smile.

“Of course,” I reassured him as I motioned towards the bed. “Have a seat.” Rather than sitting down on the bed, he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me in close, his lips crashing into mine.

His lips were warm and wet, and I could taste the demanding urgency behind his embrace. Whatever was bothering him, it seemed to have driven him insane, and I was starting to wonder if I should call out for help. However, the longer I stood there, trapped in his embrace, the harder it became to resist him. Finally, after debating with myself regarding whether or not to give in, I closed my eyes and allowed him to embrace me.
