First, she would try to express her love for me and convince me to go out with her. When I told her I wasn’t interested, she would pout and whine, saying that there was no way I would ever get any better than her. When this failed, she would attempt to put her hands on me and feel my body, and I would demand she leave immediately.

Today was when I decided not to allow her to play her game. This had been going on for too long, and I was getting tired of how persistent she was. While my situation was particularly messy, especially since Derek even confirmed that, with me being male and twice her age, if I tried to go to court about this, things could turn on me faster than if I let things be. No one ever believed that a woman could sexually harass a man, nor would they believe that I had not enjoyed the attention of a woman like her.

"You need to leave," I instructed her. "I'm too busy with my campaign to tolerate your shenanigans today." She raised an eyebrow at me as she stared at me in surprise.

"You're overstressed," she told me as she sapped back from her state of shock. "You should relax. I know something that would help." She started towards me, her hips swaying as she walked, and I shook my head.

"Don't come any closer to me," I ordered, my voice carrying through the room. "I've told you before that I'm not interested in you, and I mean it. You need to leave and get back to work, or else I'll fire you." She stopped short in her tracks and narrowed her eyes at me, attempting to determine just how dedicated I was to my statement.

"You don't mean that," she replied, her lip quivering as she stared at me. "Tell me you don't mean it." I crossed my arms as I shook my head at her, ready to bite the bullet and make her stop.

"I do mean it," I told her. "I don't appreciate your advances towards me and find it highly inappropriate. You’ve been slacking on your work, and it smells like you have been smoking weed while at work." She froze like a deer in the headlights, and I knew I had caught her.

Natalie was a known weed smoker, and a few employees had complained about the smell of weed in the bathrooms on the floor where her desk was. I had seen the redness in her eyes and suspected it the second she stepped into the office. Now that her actions confirmed it, I knew I had the legal ammo I needed to fire her. She shook her head at me as she threatened to cry.

"You can't fire me," she demanded as she stared at me. "You have no proof of any of that." I smiled as I looked at her.

"I have plenty of complaints from your coworkers to demand that you do a drug test right now," I informed her, taking back the power she had attempted to steal from me. "If you don't comply with the test, I am well within my rights to fire you." Her eyes flashed angrily as she stared at me.

"If you fire me, I'll tell everyone that you tried to force yourself on me," she argued, trying to gain the upper hand. "You'll get sued and lose everything." I shook my head at her.

"Threatening me with false accusations of sexual harassment?" I asked, surprising her with my calm behavior. "How do you plan on proving it? Because I know Oscar won't settle. You'll be in for a long legal battle." She winced as she stared at me before screaming in anger and flipping me the bird.

"Fuck you, Paul," she shouted before stomping out of the room. "You'll be sorry. Just you wait." With that, she slammed the door to my office, and I sighed with relief, glad to have her gone.

It was a good thing I had gone to Derek to get legal advice before acting on her advances and accusations. As I sat back down at my computer, I logged into the camera system and reviewed the footage. While everything was loading, I picked up the phone and called Derek.

Explaining to him what had happened, I confirmed that Natalie now had until the end of business today to go to the clinic to take a drug test and verify her innocence. I would need to send him the written complaints and reports from my other employees, stating that she had been caught smoking weed at work, and, after the footage and audio were ready, I would send him evidence of her threats to him. After that, we would file a lawsuit and press charges on her.

Once everything was completed, I leaned back in my chair and looked out at the city. I felt like a heavy weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I never asked for the drama Natalie was always trying to cause, nor did I ever accept her advances. If she got out of this in one piece, she might, one day, make someone very happy. However, I would not be that someone. My phone started to ring, and I eagerly answered it, hoping it was Derek with news.

"Hello?" I asked. Instead of Derek's professional voice, I heard Jenna's rather pitchy voice.

"Hey, I need to ask you something," she told me, and I groaned as I pressed the palm of my hand to my forehead.

"What is it now?" I asked, and she continued.

"Are you still looking for a date?" she asked, catching me off-guard.

Jenna was Matthew's Little, and she helped him host all sorts of parties and events to get Littles to meet Daddies. Matthew had been my friend since high school, but I hadn't spoken to him since Xavier's wedding when he tried to set me up on a blind date. I liked Jenna, but I kept my distance because of Matthew.

"Why?" I asked a bit intrigued. "Are you trying to set me up again?" She sighed heavily through the phone.

"Yes, but it's not what you think," she argued. "Just let me explain."

CHAPTER THREE

Annabelle

After talking to Jenna, I finally agreed to attend the baby shower she was hosting for herself and her husband, Matthew. According to her, she was six months pregnant and wanted me to come to visit now that she had moved to the city. She had done everything to guilt trip me, especially after I turned down the blind date, but after a while, this is what we had decided on.

I received the baby registry and started looking through it to see what I should get her for a gift. Everything was so expensive, and since she didn't know if it would be a boy or girl, she wanted to keep everything gender-neutral. After reviewing everything, I finally decided that some baby clothes and a blanket would be the best option, so I set off to the store to buy her the gift.

The trip to the store was uneventful, but after choosing some gender-neutral clothing and the most beautiful baby blanket, which came with a tiny stuffed elephant, I purchased a gift bag and started back towards the vehicle. Once I had put everything in the car, I had just started towards the passenger seat when the sound of a horn blaring caught my attention. Looking up just in time to watch the situation unfold as someone came tearing into the parking spot next to me, only to end up crashing right into the back end of my car thanks to having miscalculated the space between them.

The sound of metal crashing into metal and breaking glass echoed through my ears, and I immediately leaped to the side just as the car jolted towards me due to the impact. My vision immediately went dark as I collided with something or someone, and I felt my entire body go numb for the briefest of seconds before my vision returned along with the rest of my senses. A giant man in a business suit was holding me back from his, his arms moving as though he was shaking me, trying to get a response as his mouth moved to form words.

“Hey!” he started to call out distantly before my full senses returned to me, and I was overwhelmed by the noises around me. “Hey! Are you okay? Speak to me!” Dazed and a bit confused by everything going on, I looked around, trying to process everything that was happening
