of the bubble I was in, I saw everything I had been missing.

My first chance of freedom was when I went off to Brunswick University. Living with my two

best friends. Partying. Drinking. Having sex. It was all such a learning experience for me. And I loved

doing those things, but I knew I had to be careful that those things didn’t get back to my parents. I

didn’t need another lecture about how ‘we are the Savannah Sanders.’

It sucks that I never got to be a normal kid. But I respect my parents, and I’ve never wanted to

disappoint them.

“You were totally pining, but it’s fine. I just don’t want your delicate little heart to get broken

again when you see her.” Delicate? What the fuck. I am not delicate. Sure, maybe I care a little more

than other guys my age, but I don’t think that makes me delicate. And she knows this. She’s just trying

to get under my skin, like always.

“My heart will be just fine. Thank you for your concern.” She throws her hands up in surrender.

“Alright, Ez. If you say so.” She walks toward me and stops once she’s standing toe-to-toe with

and she was… there. I should’ve known better than to hook up with a roommate. It was stupid. But

she said she understood it would be a one-time thing.

It doesn’t feel like she understood, though. She’s always making little comments trying to get me

to fall back in her bed again.

Honestly, it wasn’t even that good.

Did I come? Yes. Obviously. Sadie isn’t ugly by any means.

But there wasn’t anything exciting about it. In fact, it was downright boring. I don’t even

remember most of the night.

Sadie sure as hell does. She made sure all of our friends knew we’d fucked, which pissed me off.

I don’t appreciate my sex life being talked about. That’s why I usually try to do the relationship thing.

It’s typically assumed that people in relationships are fucking, so it’s acceptable. At least where my

family is concerned.

Hookups and one-night stands are extremely frowned upon. And I really don’t want to have that
