And it was fun for a while. I had a lot of good partners who taught me things I never even thought
of, but I also had a lot of bad partners who had no idea how the female body works.
But that’s ok. It’s all a learning experience. At least that’s what I keep telling myself.
“Ok, first of all, I’m always single.” I won’t let a man tie me down. I haven’t felt ready for that
yet. I’m honestly not sure if I’ll ever be ready for that. The idea of being with one man forever fills
me with immediate dread. “And second of all, yes. I’m taking a break from hooking up with these
boys. I’m locking up the goods.”
“The goods being your vagina?” I can tell she’s trying not to laugh at me.
“Yes.” I nod at her.
“Oh, Celine. I think you’re being a bit dramatic.”
I roll my eyes at her. “Listen, not everyone can meet the love of their life at age freaking ten.”
“To be fair, I didn’t know he was the love of my life until freshman year.” She sticks her tongue
out at me.
Stella was crushing hard on her older brother’s best friend, Ozzy, for years. She moved from
Atlanta to Brunswick and into a house with her brother, Wes, Ozzy, and their other roommate, Ezra.
Long story short, my best friend is a freaking goddess and brought Ozzy to his knees for her, and
they have been living happily ever after ever since.
“Speaking of Ozzy,” I say, slowly pulling my body up off her bed. “I hope I’m not laying in y’all’s
sex juices or anything.”
“Ew, Celine. Sex juices? Please don’t ever say that again.”
“I’m just saying. Y’all weren’t even trying to be quiet this morning before he left for work, so I
know this bed would not pass a black light test.”
“Oh, sorry about that,” Stella says as she cringes. We’ve lived together for almost three years
now, and she still gets embarrassed that I can hear her and Ozzy having sex. I think it’s funny, so I
tease her about it every chance I get.
“Dude, don’t apologize for having good sex. If anything, I’m jealous.”
Stella, Ozzy, and I live in the same house Wes, Ozzy, and Ezra originally lived in on the cutest
little cul-de-sac at the end of Rage Road. I moved into Ezra’s room when he graduated from
Brunswick University and left for medical school in Florida.
Wes moved back to Atlanta with his fiancé and daughter when he graduated. Which left me,
