I nodded. “Seriously, brother. I want it all with her. Never thought it could happen for me. But fucked if I’ll let the ATF or anybody else ruin it. Nobody fucks with us. We need to put a stop to them before they get a foothold in this town.”
Downing the last of my beer, I stood and put my empty in the box Zeke brought along.
“Find whoever is fucking with us and get rid of them,” I said, turning to Jude. “If we need to do it dirty, we do it. Nobody fucks with the Kings and gets away with it.”
Jude eyed me steadily. “We’ll take care of it, Glacier. I’ll let you know what we find out.”
“Thanks, brother. I appreciate it. Reach out if you need me to take out the trash. We need to keep you four clean.”
Jude nodded.
No more needed to be said. We all had our parts to play, and we played them well. These small reprieves were always good, though, to remind us how we were keeping our town clean.
I wanted to know who was feeding the ATF information. I had no doubt that someone was, but I wasn’t sure who. Until I did, we’d have to keep things as normal as possible.
Three weeks, and I’d have Juju and possibly Fin there.
Zero hadn’t found any chatter, which in itself was suspicious. I hated to think that one of my brothers was a nark. I knew it wasn’t Juju and her family; they'd never turn on each other like that. So, it had to be coming from the Kings.
Fuck!
It was late when we got back to the club after stabling the horses—nearing three in the morning. Lawless, Lurch, and I walked in silence towards our homes.
I lifted a hand in farewell before heading inside, a tired sigh slipping from my lips, my shoulders tight with stress.
I shrugged off my boots and left them by the door. After hanging up my coat, I made my way to the kitchen and grabbed my phone from where I’d left it charging. We never took our phones with us when we met Jude and the other guys.
Seeing the message from Juju, I smiled. God, I missed her. It was hard to believe she’d only been in my life for a few weeks. She’d taken a piece of me with her when she left this afternoon.
Hopefully, it wouldn’t be long before she was back where she belonged… in my home and in my bed.
Juju: Fin wants to know if you’ll have an issue with him moving with me?
Even though it was the early hours of the morning, I answered anyway as I walked to my room. The message would be there when she woke up.
Me: Fuck, no. He’s welcome here. I’ve got a room over the garage we can clear out for him. He’ll want some privacy from us.
Taking a quick shower, I dried off and collapsed into bed. I groaned as my phone rang.
Expecting it to be trouble, I answered without checking to see who it was. “Glacier.”
“Hi, lover. I miss you.”
My lips curled into a smile when I heard her husky, sleep-laden voice. “Darlin’, it’s late. What are you still doing up? Not that I’m complaining.”
Her breath hitched, and she let out a soft sigh before admitting, “I can’t sleep without you.”
My heart clenched. I both loved and hated that she didn’t sleep unless she was with me. “I’m sorry, darlin’. Is there anything I can do?”
The sheets rustled, and she chuckled. “Not from there. Is everything okay with the club? You’re up late.”
Turning onto my back, I tucked a hand under my head and got comfortable. I’d talk to her for as long as she needed me to.
“Yeah, darlin’, it’s all good. Had a meeting that ran over. I take it from your message that you spoke to your family?”
“Mmhm,” she hummed, “I did. Dad and Gabe will be with you sometime tomorrow to take a look at what they need to do to get the storeroom ready. Shouldn’t take them more than a few days. They’ll have to get stock from the hardware store. I’ll start packing and hopefully be with you by the weekend.”
Elation filled me. Juju didn’t fuck around when she made a decision, although I noticed she didn’t say anything about Fin coming with her.
